The final episode of comparing our school and college experiences! This one feels quite vulnerable (and it's super long!) I hope it's helpful.

We discuss cutting off friendships, my comfort pens, struggling with transitions, and sleepover drama. Plus Meg being unhealthily obsessive as usual 😅

Sending much virtual hugs to Meg for her past school and study traumas. My school experience was basically identical to Lewis's, I didn't have to try at anything, even sports 😱 and be in the top, my handwriting is also terrible, I made/make friends really easy and was friends with basically everyone in my year, loved played video games and was pretty chill. I came crashing down at age 15 though as my unknown support system (my mum) wasn't very available at that time, I had cortisol based asthma medication removed (which I wonder if it kept me stable), I also hit my head a few times so I became very self conscious and worried it might effect me (as I would study the effects of head injuries etc but doctors couldn't find any long lasting damaged and didn't know what to do with me) then very slowly over the course of 6 months I ended up in what I now recognise as autistic catatonia where I was almost completely dissociated from the world (I didn't have any idea at the time what anxiety felt like but I can only imagine I was drowning in it at the time) and took several years to recover from and have been fluctuating through burntout for decades ever since. I for a very long time thought my head injuries caused all my issues until I had kids who allowed me to discover my 'tism through them and realise that I was always autistic I just had no idea what it was or meant even growing up with my autistic brother diagnosed very young. It's been a very eye opening journey and I definitely appreciate it and understand humans so so much more as a whole and way more accepting of everybody.
