Hans Engelen

I half expected the night king to take of his faceless man face and Cercei to appear. Also ... Whoever decided hiding from the king of the undead in a crypt full of ... dead ppl. I have some land to sell you on the moon.

N.T. Stars

That.... might be the darkest episode of TV I've ever seen. Not tone-wise, literally darkness-wise 😆 I wanted the dothraki to live just so their swords could light the scenes!

Slippy Bachman

Where else would they hide. The castle was overrun if they stayed in the castle or the courtyard it would be over for all of them. It was the best with what they were working with

Hans Engelen

Worked out for the red woman and Clegane... They could have barricaded a room at the center. I mean ... if you are running from a forrest fire you don't hide in a room with barrels of gasoline .. or is that just me?

John Conti

Do you remember the training Arya did with Brienne? She used that same knife move on her that she used to kill the night king:)Such an amazing episode but so sad Jorah and Theon had to die.

Miguel Sapochnik at it again for an epic battle episode!!

I freaking loooove that ending! Arya was always my favorite character since the beginning. I thought Jon or Dany was going to kill the night king but I love how it was Arya.

Guillaume Huet_rennibou

This episode is very dark, in every way! I was hoping to see the sun rise almost as much as the characters certainly did^^

Kenton Kruger

Glad you liked it, still couldn't see past all the flaws to enjoy it myself. Arya being the one to kill the Night King still feels like a subversion for subversion sake, and completely unearned story wise.

TallTyrionLannister

I mean she did train for like 6 seasons to become a great fighter and assassin. It’s not COMPLETELY unearned. Completely unearned would have been someone like Sam or Theon doing it lol

Kenton Kruger

I'm not meaning the skill, but from a character and story perspective. There's no real direct story between the two. It'd be like if Grey Worm had killed Littlefinger, or Jorah had killed Joffrey.

lemmy

"It'd be like if Grey Worm had killed Littlefinger, or Jorah had killed Joffrey." - damn that's just such a great way to put it.

Bill B.

I’ve watched this series so many times and I never picked up on that!!!

Miguel

Ive never seen a confirmation, but it was always my expectation that when the Night King raised the dead again when Jon was chasing him, he only raised the newly dead. His zombies that were killed with fire and dragon glass and valyrian steel were down for good? Otherwise it would have been over entirely, they would have just swamped everybody instantly. So he only raised the Dothraki, Unsullied, and Northmen that had died in the battle plus those that had died of other causes in the crypts?

Guy-on-Couch

they made a mistake, they didn't account for that. mistakes are made in battles....also for story purposes it was done for dramatic effect...same with the Dothraki charge...people always say that was dumb no one would ever send them out first in a battle....well it's done for dramatic effect...they spend 8 seasons telling us no army could defeat the Dothraki in an open field...They had to show us how deadly a force they were facing....
