Hey Everyone!

Take a bathroom break now, because the runtime on these Avatar movies is not messing around. It's Chandra's first time watching it, and my first time since way back when, and I was surprised how well it holds up! I remember liking it a lot at the time, but it's even better on a re-watch. There is so much beautiful detail in every frame, I only wish we had a 3D TV!

Thank you! That was a fun watch along. Every time I put this one on I think I'm just going to watch an hour and then I get sucked in! Yes, the story is derivative of so many other films but Cameron just knows how to direct this stuff, it's hypnotic! Can't wait to watch the next one with you, I'm excited that you're BOTH new to it!

This came out when I was teaching scuba diving in Bali and there is so much in this movie that is just a bigger/slightly adapted version of something you'd find on a reef. It makes sense, James Cameron's first passion is the ocean and he's made more than one movie where it takes center stage. I haven't seen The Way of Water yet, but if the title is anything to go by that's going to be another big one.
