Hi Everyone!

Last week's winner was Gattaca! Though it turned out to be a close race with Oblivion, so that one might make it to a future second chance poll...

We've been enjoying some older classics lately (Like Dr. No), so for this week's poll we're asking which classic movie we should watch! All of these suggestions were pulled from the recent 'Suggest A Movie' post, so vote for the one you're most excited for us to see!

Start with the oldest. Work your way through all of these, ending with the most recent. The Best Years of Our Lives never wins a poll, but is the most complex look at post war life ever filmed. There’s a scene where I cry every time. Two Oscars for a single performance by one actor.

These are all must see movies, although The Best Years of Our Lives probably isn’t a great reaction channel film. 12 Angry Men and Casablanca are arguably two of the greatest movies ever made.

You will be totally emersed in 12 Angry Men, If it wins. Your pals at Cinebinge loved it and George said it was one of the best films he has ever seen. Interesting to see your reaction, of course, if it wins. All films on your list are fantastic

I had to give some love to The Best Years of Our Lives. Even if it's a Patreon-only exclusive, it's DEFNITELY worth a reaction at some point. Think of it as the coda to Band of Brothers. Hitchcock and Kubrick are towering figures that shaped 20th century cinema, and their films are still highly enjoyable. Here are my recommendations for viewing order: Hitchcock: 1. North by Northwest (great intro to Hitch's style with the amazing Cary Grant!) 2. Rear Window (perfect Jimmy Stewart follow-up to It's a Wonderful Life) 3. Vertigo (perfect follow-up to Rear Window!) 4. Psycho (Halloween classic!) Kubrick: 1. Paths of Glory 2. Dr. Strangelove 3. 2001: A Space Odyssey (this is a sci-fi MUST-WATCH, but I recommend checking out some older Kubrick first to get a feel for how this film fits in his career) 4. A Clockwork Orange 5. Barry Lyndon I also have to shout-out Billy Wilder, who was Hitchcock's equal but is much less well-known today. I would start with The Apartment (1960). Just wonderful!

Speaking of just-see films, Wilder made a fist full of them: "Double Indemnity", "Stalag 17", "Witness for the Prosecution", "The Front Page", "Sunset Boulevard", and "Some Like it Hot" are some I'd add to The Apartment.
