Patreon early access: Role Reversal (Patreon)

The second content for Patreon supporters of the Crimson Moon tier has now been released! 🥳

The main focus this time is the minigame 'Role Reversal' which becomes accessible after clearing the side event in this demo. In this minigame, the player will control the enemy and attempt to capture Lily within a time limit.

Depending on the difficulty you play on, Lily's actions will vary. On easy, she'll only attempt to run away, while on higher difficulties she'll fight back. As you increase the difficulty, she'll gain additional abilities and fight back more aggressively. If you run out of HP, you lose.


4 + 1 enemies are available in this demo. The bonus enemy can be unlocked by clearing the minigame with all four other enemies.


v0.2 Update: Secunda's artwork has been added to the demo. 🥳 By the way, you should try talking to her when Lily's hands are tied for a short extra scene. 😉

Can we get any heart in ego menu?

This is not possible yet at the moment. This functionality and events that are unlocked as a result are currently scheduled to be implemented around summer 2024.

I've got the enemy SH-X and caught Lily at Masochist level. How can I get into that pink path?

The pink path is not yet implemented as this is content planned for the future. Later in the game it will become possible to increase the heart meter in the status menu, which will unlock more side-events in several locations in the game.

Originally this wasn't planned. However, thanks to the support provided by patrons, we will be able to include art for Secunda, and we may consider this as well for some characters later in the game. Unfortunately, as this was not part of the original plan, it was not possible to prepare this in time for the demo. In the near future, we will update the 'Role Reversal' demo to also include the new art.

I tried to play this when v0.1 originally released, but could not figure it out and quit due to stress in life that prevented enjoyment. So when I saw v0.2 came out, I was happy, because it was a chance to try it again. But again, I had a lot of stress playing it, because it's a bit hard to figure out how the controls, but eventually, I understood. I can see most players getting frustrated easily unless they are very dedicated. You might want to add an explanation of the controls a little bit more.

I'm sorry you felt frustration. 😔 Thanks for the feedback though, it's useful. 👍 As there are 20+ different playable enemies planned in the final version of the game, it might be a bit difficult to provide detailed explanations for all of them. We will definitely consider it for the final version of the game. 🤔 Did you get stuck in the green room, or was it in the actual minigame? If it was in the green room, I've decided to add a condition there so that the player will be able to proceed to the next scene even if they fail to defeat the sandbag. I might release a v0.3 for this next week.

I was never stuck, only frustrated. I would suggest instead of having the buttons side by side as ⬭⬭⬭⬭ during the fight, to arrange them as WASD keys. That may help a small bit and be easy to change.
