Junior Justice has Big Warmbo from Some More News energy. Just a chaotic little gremlin.

Gearbox

I was about to argue for the first dm, then I realized that it was actually exponential, not multiplicative. That's actually insane. If it was a poison that did 1,2,4,8,16,32... That'd be way more balanced.

Declan Konesky

I like Junior Justice Jake now

Myka Donati

"It has come to our attention that a Dungeon Master at the extra curricular activity department on floor five tends to have decisions that are completely detrimental to the fundamental foundations of our campus. By unanimous vote we have come to the conclusion that immediate termination be enacted"

Babbles The Clown

Murph's quiet little "Jake, that's concerning..." truly made me cackle because I agreed so hard. That alone fueled my subscription for the next 6 months. It was perfect.

Charlie Nicholls

The campaign podcast actually did a great Star Wars evil campaign. It was super interesting hearing the evil party work against the good party, and I think it can add a lot of narrative depth to show your audience that your villains aren’t just evil for the sake of being evil.

Michael Beck

yeah I see where we did my dad dirty. Since neither the DM nor my dad listen to the podcast I will eat the mustard custard alone. I think I phrased it poorly too cause I see where the DM did wrong and when I came in as an NPC basically it messed it up for my dad, but everyone else wanted to continue the campaign which is what I saw as the issue with him quitting the way he did. We all still play together and I'm usually the DM these days, but it was a weird couple days.

A. Lee. S

My brother, who is our DM, punishes my nat 1s by making me hit my fellow players. (I roll Murph bad.) mean. Should I tell mom?

Hammy

I was at McDonald’s today and saw they have a grinch meal with dill pickle fries. I can’t believe you guys got a collaboration with such a huge fast food chain.

dryptid

sexy!

Michael Beck

Ah I mean I knew it didn't turn out the way the DM wanted and I felt bad for it not being a good experience for my dad especially. I kinda figured it would turn out this way, but hey bad experiences are how ya learn. I just swore off pvp entirely as a DM even though I didn't DM this one it was a good lesson as a DM

Pankkeli

For the woodpecker case I think it’s critical to know if the journey took multiple days because if the druid knew they wouldn’t be on land until some days later, they wouldn’t prepare the ”land-spells” for that day. Whereas the player, thinking the travel is being basically skipped through, wouldn’t bother to prepare spells for the travel days and would then be stuck with spells the druid wouldn’t realistically have prepared.

Matt Bernard

The Hoglidays are in Hogust, right?

WhyNotVoidberg

That moment made me check if anyone else commented about it. It made me laugh so hard

joel

Em I'm so glad you made "sexy!" a thing because your response to it in the episode is just as good: a bemused, gruff "sexy, indeed" from an amiable wizard

KingHalt

Mustard Custard

Allen S

If the Woodpecker was on multiple days of travel, he should have had a designated beat to change his spells out each "day", but that said, he should have been aware he might need Control Water by then

Ian Hudson

I demand a bailiff tanner docket

Brandon Wiens

Evil NADDPOD campaign would be DOPE! D20 did it with I think their second or third overall season! Where they played the bad guys in “lord of the rings” essentially.

Matthew Cagle

Yeah the exponential damage is WILD. I'm more upset that they had a BBEG Jeff Bezos and they didn't go with Prime Poisoning and make the increasing damage the next prime number lol.

Fido

i NEED more twilight sanctorum !!!!!!!

PastaCortez

“Unfair to expect the party to be prepared for an ambush” is the complaint of someone who fundamentally doesn’t understand the word “ambush”

Benjamin P Parson Gomberg

SPOILERS FOR D20 Escape From Bloodkeep: The funniest thing with that though was Brennan expected PvP, and instead the party united together under Power of Friendship and Found Family, forcing Brennan to improvise a final showdown. Still an evil-ish group, but one that genuinely cared for one another in a pretty heartwarming way.

Juice

Jailiff Bake has promoted his agenda for too long, free Spill Boy!

Jordan Tompkins

Fun fact: old men in the south sometimes refer to their wives as their brides 🤢🤢

Brian McAree Murphy

Not if the players in now way were allowed to prepare for an ambush. Were they asked for perception, navigation, was anything at all different this time or were they just put into "fast travel" as usual and then ambushed with no recourse. If you want to do something like this it should be an expectation of possibility. A million reasons why a player could avoid an ambush. Not allowing a spell restock is fine, but no checks for the players at all is silly. Otherwise you can't have any recourse to them at any point saying, "we ambush, it happens"

Storybored

Junior Justice Jake would fail a strength check against the baby, twice

Aiyana

i say "jeez louise" in my everyday life because of mavid. you're not alone emily

monica morrand

This made me think of you guys: https://x.com/s1android/status/1865432198645436447?s=46&t=k_WmApnnfUE8yqUR8KYYuQ

KingHalt

I love that Mavid is becoming Jake's most quoted character

KingHalt

Bailiff Tanner would bring a new kind of chaos perfect for the Hoglidays!

Dru Thomas

Yes for evil campaign. Possible idea LOTR kinda orcs and goblins and ogre

tori

twilight sanctorum mention 👀

GGCoopie

It would be maybe funny to bring in a ringer just to get their ass kicked by the party, then the DM can spin bad consequences from that. Might be kinda fun.

Scottee

"What does it mean to prepare for the ocean?" Well, there's Waterbreathing, Water Walking, Control Water... And hey Murph, only Moon Druids are tanks! If travel was consistently skipped over, it wouldn't be weird for someone to not swap their spells out. I think a more elegant DM move would've been to start them off with a minor discovery that day or something else that would've prompted them to actually prepare themselves for the day.

Maria B

Love Murphy’s intro and being onbord with cute little junior justice to absolut distain aggressively telling Jake to shut the up and change voice 😂 it’s like listening to the exchange of my best friends. Absolutely love the chaos

nknknk

Wait, is there short rest for Twilight Sanctorum? :ooo

KingHalt

Off the top of my head no, but luckily there's only the 4 episodes you'd have to dig through haha

Jesse Smith

I've had people join games as essentially dmnpc's and it's been just fine. I don't get how that's a dnd faux pas

Dillan Bradbury

this is anna from the Instakill gun case! i have some more information if you’re curious! - the pirate lord did indeed just get back on his ship and leave after he killed her, because we all were in shock a bit - my friend playing the cleric, upon dying, went and stood in her kitchen (we were playing at Her House) and just kind of zone out. for some reason the session continues for another 2-3 hours without her because he didn’t warn anyone to make backup characters - we later found this gun, 2 more instakill bullets, and the blueprints to build more - the gun didn’t even require attunement

Rebecca N

This is obviously not the biggest issue with the exponentially increasing poison damage case, but it bothers me that it started with 1 (which squared is still 1), then jumped to 2, and then from there the damaged increased to whatever the result of the previous damage taken squared was. The idea was flawed from the beginning

Jessica Petra

Not related, but this belongs here. It's Mrs. Clause suplexing The Grinch https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1GrypMCE9J/

Ian Hudson

I have nowhere else to share this- the grinch causing trouble at a ski resort https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTYufLNkr/

Totally Offside

I went back and listened to Twilight Sanctorum after the Mavid reference in this.

zizeksmom

Wiiiiiilllddddddd. I feel for your friend!! That is so awful!

Maximus Awesomeness

I’m about to lose access to This Patreon so I think it’s important for me to tell you that miles prower tail’s name is a joke on miles per hour

Lee

Mavid in this reminded me how much i loved twilight sanctorum. Going back to relisten

Lee

I would agree. Cases like this are almost always really about mismanaged expectations. I'm not going to micromanage stuff and make everyone wait if it never comes up. It's like hand waving food for month's then with no warning send them into nowhere and asking how many rations they have.

Scottee

Not if travel has all been handwaved til that specific situation.

J. Gro

Oooh baby, I can't wait to hear your opinions on the 2024 druid's wildshape!...

Oatmeal

Was Jake lightning up at 36:38? I'm new here, hi

Any Aussie millennials remember reading Pink Chicken comics (early 2000's), with main character Mustard Custard? Thanks for the walk down memory lane! https://www.chickennation.com/
