Emily was actually right. Back in 2002 Sonic had an official collab with Soap shoes for Sonic Adventure 2. You can find full Soap shoe advertisements on sign boards in old versions of the game

Okay! I'll be the one! Before I became an Xbox boy I had a PlayStation 2, and one of my favorite games to play was Sonic unleashed. Specifically the Phoenix fight, I LOVED the song so much id play it a few times in row. I honestly don't remember what the song sounded like and don't want to look it up. It was interesting because sonic was a brawler as a were-hog at night while still being a normal sonic game during the day ( which I didn't like as much). It may not have been the best sonic game, but it still beats '06

So glad Sonic Unleashed got a shout out from the Band of Brads. It has one best made cutscenes for 2008. Kinda fun concept for a game, but definitely ridiculous.

Now, the whole werehog thing really bugged me when it came out. Sonic should still be called a werewolf, you wouldn't call a human a wereman! The game was mixed, the daytime segments were decent but the night time ones as a "werehog" dragged.

I remember playing Sonic Adventure 2 on gamecube wondering why they had SOAP! on billboards in one level and it always stuck with me. Nice to know it's a specific type of shoe. But that means the ad partnership is probably kinda old though.

This episode awakened an ancient memory of playing all the bad sonic games because they were in the $5 bin at target and grew up poor. Of all of them unleashed is definitely the best but I think people miss how awful and weird the storybook (king Arthur, Aladin, ect.) ones were too.
