Faustian Bargain: The Second Pact (Patreon)

Exactly one month ago, the First Pact of the Faustian Bargains commenced. The winner by no contest was: Is it Wrong to Crave Love (In A Dungeon)?

Now, you, too, (you, citizen, who have struck a Deal With The Devil) can make your story suggestion, which will be put to a vote by the 1st of August for all patrons. The winning suggestion becomes a new story!

Due to concerns about sustainability, the unfortunate limits of my mortal flesh, and the fact that I genuinely did not expect to get even half this many patrons (you guys are amazing, I love you all), I will be announcing that there will be a maximum of Six Pacts.

After Six Pacts, Faustian Bargains, that is, story suggestions, will be gone with the wind, and replaced with a different, but still very delicious alternative.

These started in the sixth month (June), they will run for exactly six months, and thus it is fitting there only be six of them.

As there are more people in the Deal With The Devil tier, I'm restating the clauses, as before, with one or two additions now given with the benefit of foresight:

First Clause: Conciseness

"I like your funny words, Magic Man."

• The suggested story idea must be in two sentences or less.

• The suggested story idea should ideally, but not necessarily, contain a plot. To quote E.M. Forster: "The king died and then the queen died is a story. The king died, and then queen died of grief is a plot."

• The suggested story idea should please not include your OCs/original characters.

• Suggesting an SI is fine, suggesting a named OC with character art and/or a backstory you have prepared is not.

Second Clause: Familiarity

"Ah, shit, here we go again."

• The suggested story should ideally be from a fandom I have previously written a story in.

• If the fandom is one I have not written a story in before, it should be a fandom that is fairly popular, and/or has considerable ease of access to newcomers.

• Gacha game worlds are not allowed.

• "Modern AU" suggestions are not allowed. (Why? Why torture me so?)

• Male/Male pairing content suggestions are not allowed. (Yes, traps count.)

• Purely explicit content suggestions are not allowed. (No porn without plot.)

• Crossover suggestions are examined on a case-by-case basis. (No My Little Pony in Game of Thrones.)

• Waifu Catalog, CYOAs or anything similar are not allowed.

Third Clause: Revisions

"People die if they are killed."

• You are allowed to revise the idea, adding, or clarifying things, any number of times before the idea is put up to a vote. Afterwards, you are locked in.

• Revisions after the suggestion has won are not allowed.

• Similarly, if the suggestion was the First Runner-Up, revisions will not be allowed.

Fourth Clause: Acceptance

"I'm not locked in here with you. You're locked in here with me!"

• Kindly please remember this is a story suggestion.

• Once the idea is suggested and accepted and it wins, you are likened to a drunk driver on the freeway letting Jesus take the wheel.

• While he may branch the occasional drive-in at your request to grab two number nines, a number nine large and a number six with extra dip, his hand remains on the wheel, and his sandals on the pedals.
