Patreon’s Policy Update (join through the WEBSITE) - PLEASE READ (Patreon)

So patreon has made a major change to their policy recently. Unfortunately, Apple has decided to BULLY them into using their payment processors. So, if you join as paid member through the iOS app, it’ll be up to a 50% up charge.

This means what is originally $10 for access to Kinky Komodo’s (the main tier I offer), if you join through the iOS app, it’ll now be $14.99 (basically $15). That’s an almost 50% upcharge simply because Apple is being greedy and wants a piece of the pie on a third party app they don’t even own.

This is going into effect in November of THIS YEAR. It’s also RETROACTIVE for ANYONE who has joined through the iOS app. So, if you’re currently a member through the iOS app, you’re going to see an up in price.

So, if you’ve joined through app for me, i recommend canceling and rejoining online through the website. Not only will it charge you EVEN MORE, but I will also get even LESS in return. So, screw the trillion dollar corporation bullies (Apple) and join through the WEBSITE (web browser) so that you can support the CREATORS and not coat their pockets.

Also, if you join through the website/web browser, you can still utilize the app just fine! It won’t force you to make your payments through the app, and you can still comfortably listen and enjoy content through the app just the same. So, by moving over to having your payments done through the website, not only will you keep your rate, but you also get to enjoy all the benefits of the app as well.

I think this change and upcharge is absolutely egregious and a disgusting abuse of power from Apple. So, if you don’t want to bend to their will and be forced to offer up more money for no reason, I implore you to join through the website and NOT through the app.
