The hasbara seems to be piped directly into the ears of american liberal zionists, new agers, and honestly many americans with no access to other media, which is sadly most americans. I've met members of the indigenous community on Turtle Island, the "u.s.," who are getting fed these lies and not realizing that this is the playbook that was done to them come back in another place.

I want to point out something about what you said in the episode: You are showing us the insanity of the world right now and that is making us feel sane. You scatter a few jokes in here and there and it helps keep the mood from just getting too gloomy. I don’t think it’s making light of it or helping dehumanising anyone. It’s like John Oliver telling us about police brutality or death penalty and still keeping us going with little jokes among the horrors. I think you are balancing between the two really well and I think it’s why so many of us love this podcast.

To Matt’s doubts about the impact this podcast is having; Finding Bad hasbara a few weeks ago has been the catalyst of me crying again since the winter. I'm crying more, laughing more, and even cracking jokes myself. I have been able to quiet my brain, without dissociating, and actually feel again. My point is; this project has helped me process ALOT. And feel invested in more forms of activism. I hope you continue this type of content in some form for a very long time! Before I had only participated in a few protests here in Toronto (which is still important), while hiding from the Jewish community. I was anxious that a counter potest would recognize me! I have now been using my voice through social media (posting for the first time since October 17th), and actually having productive conversations with my loved ones. I've also accepted Israeli friends cutting ties with me because of posting (I lived there most of my life). I'm still trying to navigate what is the best way to communicate with the small audience and particular demographic that follows me. Dr. Arash has given me some really interesting insights!! Navigating how to use my voice and access has been really empowering and healing. Im still carry alot of guilt for not getting involved a few years ago when I started to be disillusioned with Zionsim. However both Matt and Daniel have showed that the best time was then but the second best time is now!! Apologies for the long schmaltzy suck up 💕

I like Arash's use of the term 'tribalism'. I don't think the term 'nation' is suitable for world Jewry, nor is 'religion', nor is the single term 'tribe', since Jews are part of many separate cultures and civilizations. So I propose for world Jewry the term 'grand tribe', which would be the collectivity of many Jewish tribes (e.g. Ashkenazis, Sephardis, Yemenis, and others who are all Jews, as such).
