NOTE: Sorry we were so late with this week's slop my beautiful hogs. There will be extra make-up slop in the coming weeks for you to stick your snouts into. I swear.

Matt and Daniel are joined by comedian and former United Nations war crimes attorney Jess Salomon to discuss arboreal colonialism, the Democratic National Convention’s aversion to Palestinian speakers, and a particularly cursed rendition of Bone Thugs-n-Harmony’s Crossroads where all the words were said.

Watch Jess’ new special “Sad Witch,” out September 24, 2024 at https://youtube.com/@800pgm or find all of her info at https://jesssalomon.com/

Erm... thanks(?) for getting that catchy tune jammed into my brain while I run out the door & hope I don't end up accidentally singing that out loud as I go about my day. That could be very problematic :|

In fact Matt gave us a rendition of Verdi's "Anvil Chorus" from the opera "Il Trovatore" (1853), which he had mixed up with Tchaikovsky's "1812 Overture" (1880). But hey, potato, картофель. 😆

Quite forgivable since it's almost the same gimmick (anvil vs cannon shot). Wagner, unsurprisingly, also abused anvil hits in "Das Rheingold" and "Siegfried". I guess it was the 1800s equivalent of the bass drop.

This one was a bop!
