For this piece I made a little 3D mockup in Blender because an earlier version i had sketched out had very wonky perspective.

I just made a hollowed out cube and stretched it out to look like a very high room. I then made another one with a sphere in the middle for the treasure piece. After that I played around with some lights to see what would look best.
I also imported a transparent PNG of Diane into Blender to paste her directly into the 3D scene. That way I could quickly see if the perspective would look fine in the final piece.

When I was done I just took a screenshot of the 3D scene, pasted it into Krita and painted over it.

(I am done art nerding now. 😬 )
