I think coming in off the back of such a big personality and fan favorite like Capaldi it was going to be a tough spot to fill. Changing gender, plus starting with a completely new creative team was just too much for some people. Honestly the naysayers really just didn't give it a chance. Is Jodie's run my favorite? No, but its definitely not bad by any means. Like every Doctor she has some clangers in there, but when her episodes go hard, they GO HARD! On the note of the creative team, Chris Chibnal has stepped in as show runner and he has brought in a new composer, Segun Akinola (Murray Gold we miss you!) who brings more of a sci-fi futuristic sound to the show that I love. All the writers are fairly new to Who, and even the VFX team has changed, so it's quite the shift. Chibnal is the mastermind behind Broadchurch, so you know he knows what he's doing. About the episode, good strong start to Jodie's run. Grace was the absolute GOAT, I cannot believe she died. I was looking forward to so many more episodes with Grace. Fun fact, but the actress who plays Grace also plays Dulicbear (Elpheba's bear nanny) in Wicked. I'm interested to see which of the companions you'll feel most drawn to. I definitely have my favorite but I'll save that for later. Looking forward to seeing more of S11.
