The humiliation of Joe Biden continues in the Overlord DLC.

The ultimate punishment for Joe was his poor performance in Mass Effect 2 despite his success on the Collector Vessel and the Dead Reaper later on, he still went into his favorite game getting totally railed. Comedically enough he got burned alive multiple times.

I like this episode despite the Overlord DLC not being too engaging, and it featured one of my favorite bits where the Presidents play things straight at the end of the DLC when David was revealed. "Gavin ceased being David's brother the moment he put that first tube in his mouth" followed David's square root line was peak. I almost wish I'd cut the episode right there.

Also at long last the romance plotline reaches its end and the boys (finally) realize they could've settled this ages ago by just picking Tali.

I love when Donald is the voice of reason.... And then right back to being himself.

So... I just had a realisation that I dont think was adressed in these videos. Drew Karpyshyn, who was the lead writer for ME1 and head writer for ME2 also wrote the three novels. And those novels are canon, with Revelation being released after ME1, and Ascension being released before the release of ME2, by a solid 1,5 years. But that second novel introduces us to the Collectors. But the Collectors existing opens up the literal *biggest* plothole in the entire trilogy. Hear me out: Vigil has a theory that Sovereign is left behind to serve as a scout that, every couple of thousand years, wakes up to see how much organic life has evolved, right? And then when he deems the time right, he takes control of the Citadel somehow to allow the Reaper Forces to come in. And as we know, Sovereign ended up doing this himself because he discovered the Keepers no longer listened. But we know Harbinger controls the Collector Captain. We know Harbinger is quite literally aware at all times of how organic life is processing. The Collectors being controlled by Harbinger completely removes the reason for a Reaper to stay behind to check for progress. Because in the Terminus systems, apparantly people know of the Collectors, so its not like they just awake and people didnt know what they were. Harbinger literally could have been in contact with Sovereign all that time, or hell, send out the Collectors to get people indoctrinated or turned into husks. Whatever the case, the Collectors being written into existence and purpose means that Sovereign's place in the story makes absolutely no sense.

This is easily my favorite episode of Mass Effect 2. I've gone back to it many times. Seeing Joe die several times, given what he did in Me1, and then calling for a truce after he started everything, is fun to see.
