Also, a quick heads up, I've decided I won't be going to Dragoncon next year, but to the Litrpg Con in Denver instead. Not that I imagine anyone is going to travel to a con just to shake my mits, but it pays to let people know in advance, ya know?

I may be mistaken in so saying, but I recall you saying in an interview some years ago that you anticipated Chrysalis ending somewhere around chapter 1500. Obviously, that hasn't happened. Do you still have a pretty specific plan about when/how Chrysalis will end?

Have you told you told any of your friends or family the ending to Chrysalis, you know, in case you win the lottery and retire abruptly? Not knowing what's on the other side of the wall that requires 20 ancient monsters to break through would drive me crazy. Can you imagine a world where Eiichiro Oda bites the dust before we find out what the one piece is? It's heart breaking!

Is Tyron ever gonna get into planar travel? Would it have been feasible for anthony to take larval god and manage to evolve? How does Tyrons magic capacity compare to other gold mages? How big is the Empire in scale, size of Rome? Size of modern China? How much of its world does it occupy, are there multiple continents and will we ever see beyond the empire in the story?

A personal Highlight of this story are the non Ant povs interacting with ants, be it humans, berathians, folk or tree people, not yet friend or allies. Did you ever think about bundeling all the non anthony povs in one List? I started one but its missing a lot and now there are books and finding the right povs isnt easy and i always have to search and look up in different places to get all my post. Esample travel vlog or enids povs (i like enids developement during the story) and so on…..

I really enjoyed reading and listening chrysalis. I'm wondering why don't I see pre-orders available for like future volumes? I've read some of the chapters for what I assume will become Volume 7 eventually. My other question is why are you so far ahead on here as compared to what's published so far?

There's a lot of editing to be done to get the chapters ready to go into a published book. So I'm writing new Chrysalis while editing the old stuff (although my incredible volunteer editors do the vast bulk of the work). Also, I hate editing, so it takes time.

I wouldn't say Anthony is exactly a self incert. He has certain traits of mine, exaggerated up the wazoo. I think it's more accurate to state that he uses my voice. When I started writing Chrysalis I was writing pretty much straight off the dome without too much thought going in, so my writing voice naturally became Anthony's.

I could do that, but then the scale of the story would expand exponentially. In my head the Empire is like ancient Rome at its peak in terms of size.

Last one from me: one of the things I love about your writing is the way you weave intriguing questions throughout the story only to have the plot drive the answers to said questions, often many chapters later. A perfect example of this is when the oracle first scanned Anthony and nothing happened. (No spoilers) You eventually circled back with one of the funnest and funniest chapters in the anthem. Anyway my question is how do you keep track of all the loose threads? For such a massive adventure I'd have expected more than a few plot holes by now and there don't seem to be any.

If it isn't too much of a spoiler I have a question about BOD, do the other provinces also have their own 1-2 platinum slayers like tyron's parents to help stop breaks or is that normally not allowed and they just use their golds?

Wasn’t the rock cultist guy (name currently blanking) gonna summon the other cults to add supporters? Also, what’s the main benefit of the ants taking territory in the fifth again? Are they trying to take the whole zone or are they trying to make a safe pass through?

Are some ants champions but it isn't very clear? Just from context I would've assumed ants like Historiant and Smithant(who both run large colony spanning projects) fit the mold a little more than an unnamed ant. I found Chrysalis less than a month ago and have read through every single bit. Thank you for helping a guy during hard times. Even if ya didn't mean to.

Hard to pick a favourite. The end of bod book 2 was satisfying to write, very dramatic stuff. There's tons of little bits in Chrysalis that I was smiling while writing. Very hard to pick a favourite.

Book four of six is almost over in BoD. And chrysalis probably has a way to go. But are there any other stories rattling in your brain right now? (I loved the idea of your cultivator story)

Will the legion and the colony butt heads again? Or has the colony gotten too big? Especially after establishing themselves in the fifth. The other thing I’ve wondered is how big is the colony now ? Considering the amount of ants they are pulling into the fifth the surface areas must be huge by now.

Is 40 really the max level for secondary classes? Because otherwise we'll never see a return of new options for dear old Anathema or Forbidden One in Tyron's status sheet. Might Tyron get a new secondary class, or was Death Mage now Bone Mage his last one?

I know I'm not rinoz but iirc once they reach gold they have to go in the cage so I don't imagine they get much exp after becoming gold so I personally wouldn't be surprised if it turns out they're all pretty fresh golds

There's a lot I could say... Preperation. Have your world and characters developed properly. Planning. Know where your story is going to go, this helps so much with pacing and plotting. Have good ideas. Some plotlines, setups and characters just aren't good enough to carry an entertaining story. Sometimes you've got to throw stuff in the bin and move onto something better

Do you hope to get an adaptation for BOD sometime soon? I feel like a webtoon of some kind revolving around the darker tone of the series would do wonders to attract even more readers to the BOD cult.

Why not evolving secondary classes? Maybe have prerequisites that aren't usually worth it for a secondary classes (Maxing out a certain number of skills, incorporating them into the main class as an auxiliary class at the expense of a feature, etc.?)

Regarding BoD: Is it possible to make a skeletal mound with Tyron's build? Essentially something that scavenges bones on the battlefield to enlarge itself. If not, it would be cool to see one of the other necromancers go in the direction of bone elementals/mounds/golems.

Dropping any of his existing subclasses sounds crazy, though, since he'd also lose the accompanying feats and stats. Even Anathema / Forbidden One would be bad, since he'd lose a lot of Constitution.

What are your thoughts on fan fiction set in the world of Chrysalis? I started writing one recently and wanted to run the concept by you to see what you thought of it. The main story is set in Renewal. But I have two main characters. The first is a monster with a human soul, like Anthony and Sarah, but born in a crabs body in the second strata. The second is a human who lived in the same town as Beyn and Enid before the first wave. The plot would focus on their perspective during each major event, showing how the humans improve alongside the Colony. It would touch on some of the way Renewal developed and the classes people took to help them thrive, like enchanter, dungeon seer, and maybe even the ant militia, as well as showing how different monsters evolve while giving a glimpse at more of the varied sections of each strata.

How far in advance did you plan things for Chrysalis? Did you basically plan out each floor and create a general plot, and then refine it when you got there? How about the evolution stuff, did you also have a general idea for each level? Or is it mostly you winging it throughout with a good world building base to play off of? I’m a little late to the Q&A I see, but I just want to start with how much I’ve enjoyed the Chrysalis series (haven’t gotten to BoD yet) so far. And between you and the YouTube channel AntsCanada that I came across soon after, I have somehow gone from an indifference/hatred when they get in the house of Ants to a strange love and intrigue/fascination of them. As for questions a have 3 of them. Once Chrysalis is wrapped up, can you PLEASE keep the world (or multiverse) building going with getting out or opening up that barrier (if that’s what happens) by letting the Ants go to space or other worlds!! The question being is that at all a possibility? My second question is, now that the fortress is finished, did the legion team get their own platform? I know it was said before they didn’t have much activity in their tunnels before but surely that has changed with it being a wave and a smaller number of platforms if they got there own. And my last question is are you planning on updating the EPUB entire series for BoD and Chrysalis that is on the pinned post her on Patron anytime soon? They seem to be quite out of date at this point. EPUB, outside barrier, legion have a platform?

How do dropping secondary classes in book of the dead work? You loose all the skills/feats/stats? What happens to the knowledge though? You keep that and just loose the aid of the unseen?

Will we ever see the Ancients in action? Do U already have a max tier of evolution in mind? U are aiming for +-2k chapters and Anthony is currently around mid lvl T7. Looking at the pattern of max tier per stratum, we've the 7th stratum with T12 which is just so many lvls for +-500 chapters. And the 7th may not even be the last stratum xD And the Ancients sit on top of everyone else...
