I do think Nicole is right about Mark being "too honest". Communication is one thing, spewing every thought that comes into your mind with zero consideration for how it will impact the people around you is another. Part of adulthood is sometimes considering when and how to express your feelings and filtering yourself in certain situations to maintain appropriate boundaries. Your children don't need to hear about your every passing insecurity and negative thought. Not that you shouldn't ever discuss that sort of thing with them, but they shouldn't be your emotional dumping ground because you had a bad feeling and you want to immediately unload it on everyone around you.

Back for seconds after finishing the ep haha... I dislike Nicole, but I don't think she was wrong to storm off on the boat. Her husband had an affair and they agreed not to tell their children. Then he goes off and tells their son anyways in the midst of his little identity/masculinity crisis with zero consideration for her. They have the initial fight about it, and she actually opens up and communicates, something which is obviously difficult for her. She tells him that she's still hurting from his betrayal and reminds him that she also has a relationship with their children and that he's disregarding all of the ramifications his unilateral decisions have on her. So what does he do, now that his wife has been honest with him? He completely ignores everything she said and goes right back to making it all about *his* feelings about *his* relationship about *his* son. He can't even take a moment to understand the breach of trust and own up to hurting her-- instead he takes a jab at her and makes it out to be her fault. Not to say he doesn't have legitimate complaints about her behaviour, but this is a situation where he repeatedly cheated on her and then broke his word to tell their child their intimate marital affairs behind her back. If there was ever a moment to try to validate her feelings and engage with her perspective instead of staying entirely fixated on his own, it was here. He wants endless acknowledgment and reassurance about his every little emotion but he can't give his wife even a drop of what he demands from her.
