Yeah, I was hoping you'd drop the episode today. Thank you! The name Proteus is also a reference to Shakespeare's "The Two Gentlemen of Verona." Regarding the séance... In the first episode, we saw that Melcom has a photo with two children, a girl and a boy. While Vanessa is presenting the "dying child," she mentions the name Peter several times.

We should get Egyptian lore in The Vampire Lestat, too.

As someone else said, during the séance Vanessa was talking about Malcom’s other child Peter, who went on an expedition with him and got dysentery and died.

Showing up like Ken from succession “I’m the eldest boy!”

He had two kids - a son and a daughter. The son was Peter who died as a young boy of dysentery (the first voice who was talking about naming a mountain after him - whether it actually was him at first then Amunet took over, or rather it was Amunet screwing with Malcolm the whole time who's to say) and Mina is his daughter. The blonde woman who we saw who was taken and seemingly turned by a powerful vampire. Egyptian myth is prominent in several types of vampire lore because of its central focus on immortality. It will also come into play in the Anne Rice universe as well.
