2025 is off to an absolutely nightmarish start as the boys huddle around the microphones and try to process not only the ongoing historical LA wildfires that have destroyed over 12,000 structures and killed at least 24 people, but also the horrific content they had originally planned: The domestic terrorist attacks that were committed on New Years Day in New Orleans and Las Vegas.  If that somehow wasn’t enough, they’ll also be discussing the recent fatal police shooting of the infamous “pizzagate” gunman.  

We cover it all in our first main episode of 2025: domestic terrorism, ecological disaster, and even war crimes. Our guest is Mike Prysner of the podcast Eyes Left, the documentary Gaza Fights for Freedom, and the QAA episodes on Tulsi Gabbard.

I think it’s also important to note that in order to enlist, you’re not allowed to be on meds or in therapy. You have to be off meds and out of therapy for a certain amount of months in order to enlist. I have a relative who was diagnosed and then discharged just shy of being being considered a veteran with benefits, so it really sucks.

Trying not to sound so dramatic, but when I learn of these incidents of violence, and learn that a lot of it is being perpetuated by military veterans, it scares me. I’m a veteran. I deal with my own issues of depression and feeling worthless, but I don’t have any desire to hurt anyone. I guess I’m gonna have tokeep my veterans status a secret in town.

My partner served in the Army (medical, stationed in S. Korea during COVID). When he was back state side I went to stay with him for Memorial Day weekend in Yuma on base. It's empty, desolate, and he had to be on suicide watch for 18 years olds with absolutely nothing to do but play Call of Duty in stark barrack apartments. Practically no one around for miles. It's so surreal how little concern was shown for these young people

Coincidentally I started reading "Directorate S" by Steve Coll. It's gonna take me months to finish but I'm finally starting to dig into the GWOT stuff. I was a sophomore in HS in early 2000s many of my friends enlisted and I lost track of them after graduation. I'm at a place in life now that I can reflect on my formative years and read 800 page books to learn more about a war that spanned over half my life. Weird times.

Grew up in Fayetteville (the town surrounding Fort Liberty) and used to live with a special ops guy. The constant cloud of death and despair is very real, even as a civilian. It’s still palpable to me when I drive home to visit my family. Thank you to Mike for promoting ex-military anti war organizations. We need more of that.

One of the most interesting/scary types of military enlists is the guys who are already radicalied and join specifically to get training to do militia/terrorism stuff once they get out. Molly Conger's Weird Little Guys podcast introduced me to that type of guy, highly recommend.
