I feel like TreeTree needs to tell them that he was reincarnated into a tree. I think that's the best option for him. There really are no clean divorces and coming clean will not only help the relationship but also encourage his growth, it's been mentioned several times that his tree instincts are influencing his thoughts in ways he dislikes this would be a good chance to get Alex to help him break free. Unfortunately, it would be uncharacteristic of him. Something would have to happen to push him into keeping Alex by any means necessary. I do really like the two former heroes, as I feel they tie him to some form of more human morality, but I am also excited to see where this goes. Does he become a more ruthless nature defined tree, or does he become a more caring civilized tree.

He could tell them roughly how old he is and that he's been receiving soul fragments before he knew what heroes was, telling them about his past shouldn't be a problem for him I think?

What I expect from Treetree right now is to plan for the worst case scenario of the Demon King. What can Treetree do if the Demon King comes to his valley? Nothing? That isn't how Treetree should live. What about these two tree humans? Not worth mentioning.

There is a lot to unpack here. Gonna need to make a couple of comments to get my thoughts across. If you want you can ignore the next couple of comments.

SO what happens if a person eats a class fruit but isn't qualified and also what is used to qualify people for classes? Is it certain skills or raw stat points? This story hasn't done stats hard core, so I'm assuming a certain skills like [Basic Spell Casting] and [Mana Source] are need for like Mage.

For Lausanne the top 3 classes would be Ranger, Paladin or Druid. Rangers can use swords, at least in other fantasy settings, and its the close to a Nature-Warrior Class,unless the author wants to create a completely new Nature-Warrior class, fyi Druids are more Nature Mage. Paladin for the Anti-Demon specs (duh) and more melee. And Druids, because TreeTree.

Finally how is the soul contract enforced? Magical Contracts in certain fantasy settings are either enforced because One Entity is a weight-class or 10 above the other and therefore has to enforce it themselves, so that means that the entity in question aka TreeTree could cancel it. The other system is magic/gods enforce it and you;d have to game the system to get out or it, IE exchange something to reduce the years that the contract requires. I bring that up because I think TreeTree just saw why he might want to do Artificial Souls over people's souls. Artificial Souls are so far loyal and won't general question things, were as People who enter in that contract will probably try and find ways to screw over TreeTree or bend the rules to get out of it...

The artificial ones could become a problem too, you know. Wisp said as much, wayyyy back, that they can get kinda problematic once they get further in their maturity. Whatever that means.
