To be fair, he runs a surveillance state more intrusive then China. Though he doesn't really go around imprisonning people for their thoughts.

Seriously, the heroes are the only threats. With the central continent united, all Aeon and the Valhorns have to do is prepare anti-hero counter-measures and some anti-ship weapons to make landing near impossible. Atlantic Wall works.

If Aeon can detect which ships had the heroes he could probably one shot them with the hero cannon + walker cannon but i doubt that would be interesting from a plot perpective, plus the churches must have some hero defensive items stored up. If they actually make it into the valley of the unrotten then he could use the demonic pipe roots to funnel demonic energy into the heroes and kill them or trap them as batteries to purge the rotted lands faster. It'd be interesting to see the reaction of the heroes to all the churches and believers of the other gods that are everywhere. That and the lack of mutates or monsters? An interesting but likely not as fun possible storyline might be Aeon losing and going underground. Would he still help plants/harvests throughout the continent? Would the churches force convert all the Aeon believers or massacre them? It does kinda reset everything back to the underground valley period. A win or stalling long enough for the next King allows for more story possibilities, though either way I think Aeon would be researching crossing oceans or surviving in the planet's core super hard.

Damn. In this story I'm always torn between my fascination of Aeon growing and developing in peacetime and then the cataclysmic disasters he must face... Really my biggest gripe with the circumstances about to happen now is that I fear Aeons fights with the gods will just keep escalating. But I will admit one of my favorite parts are when Aeon gets wrecked and then reemerges after decades of hibernation like a forest after a forest fire. Thanks for the chapter I'm looking forward to what comes next.

A lot of cool possibilities. Although Rottedlands is just a place to farm hybrids in, at this point. Aeon probably shouldn't cleanse them completely unless he figures out dungeons.

I wonder what Aeon will do if he defeats the heroes. I see 3 possibilities: - kill them - keep them drugged and asleep (if their resistances aren't high enough) - pull out their heroic class (as he did with Mirei) Maybe he can make some kind of soul contract. I don't think he will let them walk if they attack him.
