Thinking of Genesis as the awakening of consciousness/self awareness, then Adam, Eve, and the snake represent 'natures'of mind. Anatomically, left and right brain, and the spinal/nerves. Think of the skeleton as a 'tree' with a snake/spine and knowledge as the 'fruit' of consciousness.
