I've watched maybe 10 reactions by now and this is only the second time someone understands the bars in "I Killed You", good ear Molly! not sure whether I like the production/music or the lyrics more, but great reaction as always! favorite lines from the album: "Life is too short but forever is so goddamn long" "Allergies to bum n*****s, I see you my eyes itchin'" "Took a shortcut to forever, I'm upset" "All I got is photos of my Rari and some silly suits" (Kanye reference) "Always ride another n***** wave, you a sailor, you could never moonwalk in my Chuck Taylors"

Tyler mentioned on social media that this was his most personal album. So he had to wear a mask to be able to fully express himself in the most honest way. Fun fact tyler has mentioned before how he loves kendricks Mr moral & the big steppers. So this feels like his own version of that album being honest and open with the public audience about his personal life.

That make sense to me. I thought he chose this time to get even more personal than he did in the past and I made a direct connection to Mr Morale with this album...

Chromakopia is definitely the most Tyler's opened up about his life and get personal since flower boy. "Like him" is also such a great song, especially because its like a plot twist at the end of a movie. Figuring out that his dad really wanted to be there for him when at first, he thought his dad was a bum, and that he left because he was a deadbeat, Tyler even expresses his hate for his dad on the song "Answer", but now that he knows that his dad really wanted to be there for him and be a father for him, it must have affected him a lot, especially since his mom kept that from him for so long. Anyways, I think this album is absolutely fantastic, its definitely in my top 3 Tyler albums.

ohhh mb I guess i didn't see circles on their youtube when I checked

Yeah I was going to comment on the Mr. Morale connections, good to see it already mentioned here. First time I listened to this album I thought some of Tyler's flows, vocal inflections and ad libs reminded me of Kendrick's more recent stuff (Mr. Morale as well as his collaborations with Baby Keem) and now that I've given it more time to sink in it's apparent that the Mr Morale connections exist also in the lyrics themselves and the themes that this album explores. I don't want to call this Tyler's "version" of Mr. Morale, no, this album can stand on its own and Kendrick isn't the only person in hip hop being vulnerable and talking about going to therapy, but there are enough connections that it feels like an intentional "nod" towards Mr. Morale from Tyler. I wonder if we're only starting to see the true impact that Mr. Morale has had/is having on the culture.

hi it’s molly. i was actually going to say in the video that it felt like “his version” of mr morale (although lighter), but i also didn’t want to call it that because it’s his own and can stand alone, so i didn’t say anything in case i sounded disrespectful or something lol. i’m glad you guys agree and i should have said it felt very inspired by mr morale. i also noticed a lot of things that reminded me of kendrick (even little things like when his mum says “you don’t ever have to lie to kick it” even if that isn't just kendrick, and i forget which song but there was a part that sounded so much like when kendrick says “amazing brother” lol). very cool!!

gabriel barbosa

I know it has nothing to do with the reaction, but I wanted to know why there is no reaction to the Astroworld album?

f11

unfortunately we don't have the uncut version because we lost a lot of files on a hard drive that corrupted

gabriel barbosa

I understand, it's sad that this happened. By the way, I'm Brazilian and I love your reactions. Hugs!!
