Great list! I love a lot of the albums named here but there’s some I’ve never actually listened to. I’ve been hearing about how good Maps is for a while but I’ve just never got around to it. Definitely going to have to give it a listen at some point. Thought I’d share a quick 10 of mine because I find these subjective discussions more interesting than trying to do an objective greatest of all time list: Undun by The Roots GKMC by Kendrick (yeah it’s cliche but it is what it is) Carter 3 by Wayne (childhood right here) The Cool by Lupe (I agree re F&L btw, it’s nostalgic but it is a little dated production wise. Love Samarai too but I need to sit with it a little longer before I can rank it as my favourite) 7 Day Theory by Pac (first hip hop album I ever heard, also his best & most cohesive body of work imo) SIMBI by Little Simz (good to see some Simz love here. She has one of the best catalogs going just now imo but I’m from the UK may be a little biased. Grey Area is great too). Great Adventures of Slick Rick by Slick Rick (Sidenote: Would a reaction to this be possible? Ik ik but this album is hilarious to me, I like to listen to it like its the music version of one of those old school stand up comedy audiotapes…apart from *that* song which is a skip) The Fix by Scarface Blank Face by Schoolboy Q Gods Son by Nas (Nas is maybe my favourite rapper too if I had to pick and this is the 1st nas album I ever heard so I have a special place for this one. Can never go wrong with illmatic though, I was finally able to see him perform on his anniversary tour in Edinburgh last week and to hear illmatic being performed live was quite cool. Good to hear Lost Tapes get a mention here)

blank face is so so underrated. one of the best rap albums of the 2010s period

Kev

Great list. Many gems to listen to for the first time!!

Kev

Also love how chill this vid is for some reason lol

KD28

Absolutely agree Kev. It’s a fantastic album and deserves to be mentioned when talking about the greatest albums of the 2010s. I feel like it doesn’t get the credit it deserves sometimes

Yosef

Can’t wait to listen to some of these!!

Dani.bby

great list! Refreshing to see so much variety and not feel obligated to fill it with "the greats". (Mase - Harlem World is a wild pick tho lmao)

the TPAB exclusion hurt but not as much as the things fall apart and liquid swords exclusions. I will definitely be checking out some of the albums you mentioned here! Also, I don't know if you're familiar with him or not, but please please check out McKinley Dixon and his last 2 projects, BPJ and for my mama. They are incredible and I think you and Molly would love them. BPJ is less than half an hour anyway. Much love!

Taegan Moss
