Edit hotfix 1:

  • Added a large left stick deadzone for swapping between keyboard and mouse mode while using gamepads.

  • Fixed Cun'thulu tentacle missing animations in release builds (thanks to Slith for the bug report).

This months build will be the final early access for version 0.3. With a public release planned for sometime after the early access for version 0.4 is uploaded.

The game is now fully playable using a gamepad. Gamepads can mimic mouse input using the left analogue stick. And if the dpad is pressed it changes to keyboard input mode.
There's no way to change the button layout yet, but the default button layout can be found at the bottom of this post.

The new trap rooms aren't too different from the old one with the hidden spikes. But the trap elements are clearly visible at least. The more complicated trap rooms are still being worked on.

Wands can now be recharged using the new battery item. Batteries can be purchased at the vending machine on neutral floors.
Also wands can now only spawn once throughout an entire run.

The new incubus/succubus enemies will perform a ranged attack at an enemy in their vision. If an enemy gets too close they will try to cower behind an ally, and if they have no allies nearby they will charm one of the players allies. Finally if they have no other option they will perform a melee attack.

The new enemies definitely made the game more challenging again. There can only be a maximum of 2 of them on the lava, spooky and frozen floors. And they shouldn't spawn near each other. They will guest visit the lava and spooky floors for now, and the plan is to replace them with caster enemies that fit the floors themes better at a later date.

I felt kinda bad for fixing the broken ally recruitment from the previous builds, people seemed to have fun stress testing the ai. So I replaced the npcs in the hidden debug room with a new console tile that can spawn any npc into any faction.

Preview for the february build will be up on the 1st.

  • The pigman trader has been added to neutral floors with his own cinematic, he gives more bits for items after friendly events.

  • New incubus/succubus caster type enemy has been added to the lava, spooky and ice floors with a unique cinematic for each.

  • The game now has full gamepad support.

  • The minimap can now be clicked on to travel.

  • New aphrodisiac and flamethrower themed trapped chest rooms.

  • A new battery item has been added that recharges wands when used. They can be purchased from the vending machine tile.

  • A new saint statue has been added that grants the player calories based on lewd meter value.

  • Allies can now be instructed to wait at their current location until told to follow.

  • Added exposed variants to the alpine bikini.

Changes:

  • Nothing has changed in the room that doesn't exist on the first floor.

  • The main character is now named "Chloe Glands" under the hood. Though the name is never visible to the player.

  • Wands can now only spawn once in the entire dungeon.

  • The game over cinematic can now be skipped (thanks to Melody for the reminder).

  • When viewed through the memory menu, game over cutscenes no longer shows the game over text and will wait for input before continuing.

  • Blessed/cursed tomes now affect allies/enemies respectively.

  • Damage from weapons with shock enchant now bounce like the shock wand.

  • Any form of ice damage now has a 10% chance to freeze a target already affected by frost. Wet targets will still freeze 100% of the time.

  • There is now a warning message that pops up when starting hardcore mode from the main menu.

  • Saint statues no longer spawn randomly. They are now a feature reserved for neutral floors.

  • Cun'thulu statue now grants the player a spell to summon a tentacle ally.

  • Detection tomes now reveal mimics on the minimap.

  • Tome descriptions should now be more... descriptive.

  • The old trap room with the near invisible spikes has been removed.

Fixes:

  • Unobfuscated rings no longer reveal enchant level (thanks to Aargh for the bug report).

  • Kraken is now immune to displacement effects, and will despawn when the head loses sight of all enemies (thanks to Aargh for the bug report).

  • Fixed cursed healing tome not hurting the reader.

  • The minimap will no longer be cut off when loading saves after a game over (thanks to MyahTG for the bug report).

  • Fixed an issue causing stairs leading up to not be placed correctly (thanks to Protowolf for the bug report).

  • Fixed a bunch of bugs with the tile selector that got introduced with mouse support.

  • Fixed missing sound effects when mouse interacts with menus.

  • Allies no longer retain temporary effects when resurrected.

  • Fixed bad normals on exposed goth thong.

  • Fixed an issue causing the window mode setting option to do nothing.

Couple of runs in and the balance feels really good. It was getting a little easy, but some of the new enemies give more to manage and make allies higher risk. Starting gear burning also adds a lot more risk to using random wands on yourself early game hoping to high roll a wand of enhancement. I'm tooling around with the mechanics (wet/freeze) more than I used to, which is fun! Only comment is that the kraken is very easy to cheese if you're so inclined - especially for such a powerful boss. Maybe increasing its tentacle slap range might make it a scarier encounter, if that's what you're going for. Also loving the new saint options - some really good gameplay synergies there. The first time ever a bottle of cum might be useful other than as a mere risk for random potions!

Very nice. Defintely more difficult now with the succubus. I did notice the cunthulu tentacle doesnt seem to have animations, it stands straight up like a totem pole.

the new animations and their mechanics surrounding them are amazing, and i'm excited for what your gonna cook up for the new statue. Also very nice touch to add that the succubus and incubus never run out of cum( if that's intentional). Only issue i have rn is that there doesn't seem to be a way to get a high cum stat any more lol. Which for me makes the og statue useless because no starving for only 200 cum is a steal. Unless i have a bug or something i think that's something you should look into otherwise great preview.

Notes after first in-depth run-through: Bugs: -Very minor bug I noticed, selecting outifts with glasses set to default has a tendency to have the glasses not change with the outfit -Cunt'hulu tentacle doesn't have an attack animation? -Not sure if intentional but Succubus was unaffected by Ring of Charm -Update, I'm pretty sure this is intentional because I hit a minotaur with a wand of charm and then the incubus stole it from me. Further attempts to charm were useless, i think it's really cool that the incubus charm is stronger -Your wording in your Patreon post about the succubus/incubus being on 3 different floors made me think that the succubus and incubus each had unique cinematics depending on which floor they showed up on. That being said, the cinematics they do have are amazing, keep up the great work. -This is a strange one: Returned to first neutral floor with trader, told kobold to wait next to stairs. Went upstairs (going to a previously found altar) and the kobold follows me. After this, no matter where I step or even if I just pass the turn, it caused me to go back downstairs to neutral floor. Fixed once I told kobold to follow again. Seed: 595786199 -Clicked on minimap to go downstairs, auto-pathing thought lava was the best path. I was standing on the top right corner on Seed: 595786199 -Using mana battery on wand to recharge does not use a turn -Minimap auto-pathing on ice level just walks across ice and falls down Exploit -75 bits to recharge wand of enhancement + mirror = Chloe "Catch These Hands" Glands, Kaos Kobold, and Fuck'Em'Up Frankie -Side note, Kobold gets the cutest little hammer if you give him one Positive Feedback -I love being able to click on the minimap to navigate as I find myself needing to return to previous floors to sell items, use alters, etc. -Thank you for allowing switching of left/right click! -Interesting alternative playstyle unlocked! Running around with spell tomes and wands, does take up most of your inventory though, but very fun! Difficulty feedback Causes of defeat before I ever completed a single playthrough: -Incubus and my own kobold beat my ass -Aphrodisiac chest kaused my kobold to fuck me to overflow -Told kobold to wait, looted aphrodisiac chest, read the tome I found, summoned minotaur that then fucked me to overflow -Difficulty is feeling nice, loving the balance we have right now Neutral feedback -May be by design but I feel like I find few rings now compared to before. Not necessarily a bad thing, it adds to the challenge -Flame trap room feels like the most minor speedbump since I can just tell follower to wait a moment. Aphrodisiac room is much more challenging and I like it. -What do blessed rings do again? I think you may have listed in one of your previous posts but maybe adding in item description would be very helpful Ideas: -I love being able to loop around and keep lewd meter but maybe also be able to keep bits? And to balance it, find a way to scale difficulty with each loop? -Do you have a roadmap for upcoming features? Understandable if you don't want to share but could be valuable for feedback, I know I'd love to see it if you're open to it. -Other than Bits and unlocking the H-Scene, what is our motivation to fight the kraken? He can just be avoided for the most part, because he's early enough on that the challenge of fighting him most times isn't worth it. Maybe make Water level later on, or have him drop some reward? All in all, loving the constant updates Floppy, keep up the great work. I plan to keep playing some so may have a couple more bug reports pop up but this post should contain the majority of my finds.

A dropped Mana Battery has no model, and shows a questionmark instead. Buying Mana Batteries is possible, even if the inventory is full. Excess batteries are dropped on the floor instead.

Bug: When telling ally FRANK! to wait in proximity to a stairwell, he appears on the next floor near the player, and it is not possible to make more than two steps or so. Instead the player and FRANK! are moved back to the floor where FRANK! is supposed to wait. Then he follows the player until he reaches the location where he should wait. Then he waits there again. This happens up to six tiles away from the stairwell. Edit: The ally Kobold does that too, seems to affect all allys. Edit2: Oh, Lulu found that bug already too =)

Unlocked all the new content in a single run this time, babyyyy! Had some great luck with a +1 steel sword and steel shield and holy water to bless them early on, so when I had to deal with a cursed ring of charm it wasn't too bad. Two things in particular that hyped me up this time, not including Chloe getting a name, which I have already expressed hype for: 1) The incubus cinematic is anal. Fuck yes. My dreams are, in fact, coming true. 2) The minotaur passively swinging his hammer on the anvil with his attack animation was a lovely addition that warmed my heart. Little details like that are so fucking awesome.

I had the same issue with the succubus and a glass ring (later found out it was a ring of charm). It could be that obsidian was charm for your run too? The succubus/incubus seem to be intentionally immune to charm effects, so it could make sense for charm items to not get successfully identified when used on them

If you hit a Kraken tentacle with a wand of teleport while you are standing on solid ground, the tentacle will then move around on solid ground and not get back in the water. It also can't go through doors. Technically this is probably a bug, but I think of it as an incredibly funny feature. I have screenshots if that's helpful but should be trivial to reproduce. Also, using a scroll of enchantment on an unobfuscated ring (at least...) causes the game to report the ring's type as well as its enchantment level. Again, this is probably not intended, but is a helpful little exploit!

Bug report: Charmed Pig Trader and Chloe on the second floor via Aphrodisiac Vial (after fucking him). Pig Trader followed me to the next floor downstairs. After that, he seems to be stucked on that non-neutral floor, and everytime Chloe makes a step from the stairs, she'll be teleported back to the neutral floor above. Kobold companion doesn't seem to be affected by any bugs. Seed for testing: 940740125. Edit: Another bug report, different approach, same outcome: Charmed Pig Trader via Ring of Charm. Waited, until he finished his pause, then went to the next floor. He followed me, and as the charmed status faded, Chloe was teleported back to the neutral floor. Seed for testing: 220287588. I think charming the Pig Trader causes this bug. Maybe make him immune against charming?

I forgot to add a deadzone the left stick. When the mouse is visible the gamepad just simulates mouse presses. And if the mouse is offscreen theres nothing to click I guess. I've added a bigger deadzone to the left stick for a hotfix I'm working on. It should be up later today.

Sedusa effect might be a bit overtuned. But at the same time getting to 200 isn't quite so easy anymore. +/- keys or the scroll wheel will zoom the camera. Was it a specific cinematic that caused the camera to misbehave or did it happen after all of them?

I can't remember which cinematic so it may be a few. And maybe there could atleast a maybe like one more way to increase the cum stat. Cus like before all you can do now off the top of my head is just the two recruits which is only +20 max per run. Which would take about 8 runs to get over 200. Seems a lil too hard for a new player.

Maybe something with the succubus? Perhaps having sex with them a few times could perhaps give you an award? I think there's a decent risk reward right there

The player gains 1 point of max value for every 5 points drained over time. So the player will increase the max value over time assuming the value is above 0. It takes around 100 turns to gain 5 points of max value. And it takes roughly 100-150 turns to clear a floor. But yeah there will be more ways to increase it in the future.

Thanks for the extensive bug reports, they're really helpful. I'll try to have a hotfix up later today. Blessed rings do nothing. But if I were to add say, an entity that would curse or tinker with equipment, then they would be immune to it. The kraken is mainly there to add flavor and to make water traversal a bit more dangerous. But a way to make looping runs more difficult might be to make defeating him a requirement to continue. I don't really have a roadmap. It's more a list of ideas for enemies, features and floors I want to add. But it changes constantly so I'm not too keen on making it public.

Thanks for the bug reports. The kraken and his bits should only ever stay in water so that's a bug. I'm conflicted about the enhancement scroll. It definitely shouldn't reveal the obfuscation but the itemlevel part might be kept in.

Love the progress so far. only issue ive encountered is trying to left click myself to access inventory while standing in a doorway will always try and fail to close the door instead. Also wasn't sure how i was going to feel about the incubus but after playing the update i love what you did and hope to see more of them.

is there going to be a way to disarm traps in the near future? because right now they kind of feel like an HP tax for loot goblins like me. I'd like for there to be some method that would force you to sacrifice some resource to remove a trap, like throwing a shield down to activate the spike traps or using an ice wand to put out the fire trap.

The old spike traps were replaced by the fire traps to make them more visible. They always spawn in a chess board pattern so it shouldn't be required to take damage to reach the chest. But ye, more item + tile interactions are in the works.

Hey. Loving the game so far. Great work! Just wanted to report a minor bug report of a graphical glitch that occurs when in a H-Scene and Cloe is wearing the Alpine Sweater Top and the Boots are removed. There's a missing piece of her toe with her feet model. Tested it with other clothing combinations and and only seems to show up the Alpine Sweater top. Anyway looking forward to the next update!

Slight maybe bug report? Succubus and incubus seem to maybe be bugged this update? Whenever they load in on a level and fuck them, they don't have infinite cum and they don't charm you but whenever you debug them in or summon them they have infinite cum and they do charm you. And I have a suggestion, the Apline outfit is the only outfit where you can take the shoes off( I don't have a foot fetish) and it would nice if the cardboard and goth outfits had the same option, maybe giving the cardboard outfit a socks option and the goth outfit a fishnets option?

Thanks for the bug report. The characters immunities weren't getting saved properly. And the shoes option is in the works already, at least an on/off toggle.

Sorry, their rigs are too different to share animations. It works between incubus/succubus since they're essentially the same model with different bits attached.

I changed how blessed/cursed tomes work in this update. Blessed tomes now also apply the effect to nearby allies. And cursed tomes also apply the effect to nearby enemies. Apart from the detection tome. It still only applies to the player. Still, thanks for the bug report. I'll double check that they actually are working as intended.
