i think i prefer the other subs for the ishigami moment this episode, he was hoping to be the kind of person that, while usually slacking off, can achieve high grades if he just puts a little effort in - he isn't upset that he couldn't improve his grade, he's upset that he couldn't actually achieve what he wanted to achieve after putting what he thought was sufficient effort in. Personally I relate to this a lot, as someone who would slack off a ton in my early education yet manage decent results with last minute revision, coming to terms with the fact that growing is an investment you can't expect immediate results out of was one of the biggest blows to my motivation to study in general once I got to higher education (and one I still struggle with at the moment).
