For the first few episodes, I've felt like the show has been a step down from season one. The animation doesn't bother me much. It's more that the story has just felt like it was in a weird spot, but after watching this episode and then watching Tee react to it a day later, I like this episode more than I did at first, and I like where the story is going. I hope it keeps up and that the Magic School stuff is entertaining.

For what it’s worth, I think the content of the first 3 episodes weren’t in the original web novel and were instead added in the light novel version. So while I wouldn’t go so far as to call it “filler” it nevertheless feels somewhat disconnected from the greater story since it was never part of the original draft.
