If the father only cares about his empire, then ‘exiling’ Sera by sending her back to Korea, and providing for in her in exchange for no interference, would remove the 'problem' and allow his empire to grow. Not to mention allow Sera to live her life the way she wants. Corse, this is assuming he doesn’t plan to use Sera for an arranged marriage.

That's what I think about most of these arranged marriage situations but characters always find a way to accept. If he asks and she rejects it, I'd be overjoyed. I'd rather that and have them deal with her being cut off then the normal arranged marriage stuff.
