And now step into a computer with me… haha. This one I need your help with - I’m in two minds about this reaction and would love to hear your thoughts on if I should make an edit for YouTube? While it was probably super exciting in 1982, it wasn’t so mind blowing for me. So let me know if it’s still fun enough to make a reaction highlights video for next Friday Oct 3rd if you give it the go ahead! 🖤

TRON (1982) - Full Watch Along

Tron is a 1982 American science fiction action adventure film written and directed by Steven Lisberger from a story by Lisberger and Bonnie MacBird. The film stars Jeff Bridges as Kevin Flynn, a computer programmer and video game developer who is transported inside the software world of a mainframe computer where he interacts with programs in his attempt to escape. It also stars Bruce Boxleitner, David Warner, Cindy Morgan, and Barnard Hughes. Tron was one of cinema's earliest films to use extensive computer-generated imagery (CGI).

Here's my honest thought... I might at least consider not giving this one a premiere on Youtube. I ONLY say that because a lot of people LOVE this movie! I loved it as a kid and a teenager, but it gradually lost appeal for me over the years. I still like the movie, but there are so many other movies I'd watch before Tron these days. I didn't even pre-order the 4K release, lol. All that to say... A lot of people are protective of this film. I know that we, being your regular community, love your honesty and all your reactions (Pro-movie or not)... But I also know that random people are likely to be gripey about people not enjoying Tron. So, its one of those things where I think your regular fans will still enjoy the reaction a lot. Its just whether its worth having to deal with a lot of possible 'mean' comments. I support you either way, Coby! Now if you'll excuse me, I have to finish watching your reaction!

I liked it as a kid, but even then I knew it was a stupid movie. The technology needed for this thing didn’t exist, so there’s a lot of traditional animation mixed in with the digital stuff. Ambitious, but George Lucas they were not. Even Jeff Bridges couldn’t legitimize it. There’s a quote from Rob Thomas of Matchbox 20 where he said, “It made a better game than a movie, saw the movie once, played the video game a thousand times.” Never a good sign.

I played the video game a ton as a kid, but I never really loved the movie itself. I don't hate it, but it's just not one of the movies from that era that I hold in high regard. I agree that this might be one to pass on when it comes to a YouTube edit. I enjoyed the reaction, though, because it's a reminder that Coby is honest with her reactions and doesn't pretend to love things that she doesn't.

TRON did cost a lot to make and was considered groundbreaking. Tron was nominated for Best Costume Design and Best Sound at the 55th Academy Awards. It was disqualified from the Best Visual Effects category because the Academy felt that since it was using computer animation that it was cheating.

Coby, be super honest about it and just say you did not like it hahaha. I struggled watching it again with you lol The the woman in the movie is Cindy Morgan, you seen her in Caddyshack
