This one was so so cute. I didn’t realize while watching, but afterwards I remembered that my mom jokes and calls my stepdad Chance when he’s out in the garden! I never knew why until now haha! Hope you enjoy this sweet satirical comedy… 🖤

BEING THERE (1979) - Full Watch Along

Being There is a 1979 American satirical comedy-drama film starring Peter Sellers, Shirley MacLaine, and Melvyn Douglas. Directed by Hal Ashby, it is based on the 1970 novel Being There by Jerzy Kosiński, and adapted for the screen by Kosiński and the uncredited Robert C. Jones. Jack Warden, Richard Dysart, and Richard Basehart are featured in support.

Coby, you kept wondering about who was playing the president. He wasn't in Big; that's Robert Loggia. The president is Jack Warden. They do look somewhat similar. You might've recognized him from 12 Angry Men, though that was from 20 years before. I don't know if you watched the Problem Child series as he's in that as well. You missed two other actors that you've seen before: Richard Dysart as the doctor and David Clennon as the young lawyer. They were in The Thing as Dr. Copper and Palmer, respectively.

Coby, the house is the Biltmore House in Asheville, NC. The first gate is by the street, then you could see the entourage driving across the estate to the main house. It's a beautiful estate with deer roaming free and a winery. I did the main house tour as well as the winery tour and highly recommend them. Next time I plan to take the Architectural tour. Being There was one of my dad's favorite films. It didn't resonate with me as a teenager and this is the first time I've seen it since then, and I enjoyed it more this time along with your reaction. Chauncey walking on water was such a trippy ending 😂
