FAWLTY TOWERS S2E2 "The Psychiatrist" - Full Watch Along

Fawlty Towers - Season 2, Episode 2: "The Psychiatrist" Fawlty Towers is a British television sitcom written by John Cleese and Connie Booth, originally broadcast on BBC Two in 1975 and 1979. Two series of six episodes each were made. The series is set in Fawlty Towers, a dysfunctional fictional hotel in the English seaside town of Torquay in Devon. The plots centre on the tense, rude and put-upon owner Basil Fawlty (Cleese), his bossy wife Sybil (Prunella Scales), the sensible chambermaid Polly (Booth), and the hapless and English-challenged Spanish waiter Manuel (Andrew Sachs). They show their attempts to run the hotel amidst farcical situations and an array of demanding and eccentric guests and tradespeople.

"...and then she go crazy!" Can't wait for this one! And it had an aussie for you.

Basil wasn't concerned about a guest that wasn't being paid for. (The charge is normally per room, not per guest.) Instead, he was opposed to having two people who weren't married sharing a room. Hotels at one time wanted to avoid being places were random people met to hook up (e.g., for affairs, prostitution, etc.). You see a similar dynamic at work in a scene in the movie "The Graduate", where Dustin Hoffman is worried that the hotel employee will know that he's there to sleep with a woman. In Basil's case, of course, he's just generally morally uptight about anything concerning sex.
