Here’s a little tutorial on how I altered my skirt, this works for most skirts and is how I deal with awkward sized pants that come too big! Details are in the photo captions! You can see the before of how large the skirt was before I altered it to fit on me like you see in videos!

Never would have guessed it was altered looking at it. The new seam is really subtle. Do these alterations hold for every day use or just enough for cosplay?

They hold up for everyday! It’s not the most neat or full proof alteration, but I use strong thread and a sewing machine will make the stitch tight enough that it won’t break unless you purposefully stretch it too much!

What would you do to make it neater? I’ve adjusted stuff but in an entirely utilitarian sense. Ive just round stitched everything and anything since it works on canvas so… surely it works on trousers?
