Maki is gonna be pissed at first but will definitely appreciate the chance to break free, Mai will just be happy to be with maki and the chance to see her happy probably, unless the AU changed how they were in personality types.

Oh definitely, I'll try to keep their personalities as close to canon as possible, especially Maki. Mai might have some minor changes, but it shouldn't be anything too drastic.
