Yep, Suirei has been called the Moriarty to Maomao's Sherlock Holmes (and maybe Jinshi is Watson? lol)

You may have forgotten, but when Maomao first met Lihaku at that first garden party, she thought to herself that he was like a dog, and that's how she thinks of him since then too (in a good/cute way haha)

And yes, that conversation with Gaoshun near the end of episode 20 confirms that Jinshi is not a eunuch, and he is actually nineteen years old instead of 24 like "Jinshi the eunuch" is supposed to be- and Gaoshun's son Basen is the same age as him, around a year older than Maomao (which would make Jinshi the same age as the emperor's younger brother as well)

Since you've finished the season you've probably realized that what happened at the end of episode 20 was Lihaku hanging out at the Verdigris House overhearing servant girls there talking about one of the three princesses potentially being bought out- so it had nothing to do with the concubines at the palace or anyone being pregnant lol

Another thing I wanted to comment on- this is the point in the show where you realize that it’s not just unrelated “mysteries of the week,” everything that we see her investigate serves a purpose- of course, the metal workers and the man poisoned by seaweed were both intentionally presented to her by Lakan (indirectly by him giving those to Gaoshun and Jinshi knowing they would go to her lol) probably as a test to see if she’d put things together and act on it (which I think explains why he showed up at the ceremony just in time to help her). And the death of Kounen way back in the first half of the season linked in- most of the other things in the first half linked to the baby deaths and/or Lishu’s attempted poisoning by Ah Duo’s lady in waiting- in other words, every detail we see on screen and piece of information we’re given are important- even if not right away, can become so later, and I love that about this show
