Update - Exhausted and not feeling great (Patreon)
Content
Hey friends and fans, just wanted to give you a bit of an update since it's the end of the month and I still have one Main Rotation story that hasn't been updated.
Logia Brothers is gonna have to wait until next month, I'm afraid. A combination of things IRL have built up and I'm just...exhausted.
After writing 63,294 words this month (Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone is 76,944 words), not to mention doing the same last month, and the month before that, and the month before that...etc. I'm a little worn out.
Compound that with IRL stuff (dealing with the lawyer handling my late mother's estate especially) and now waking up this morning feeling like crap, I think I just need a day or two to rest and recover.
Before anyone panics, no, I'm not going anywhere. The stories will resume in just another day or two. The Tier Reward Polls will be out tomorrow on the first of the month like they always are, and the Monthly Random Drawing will take place too. Everything will be fine going forward. But, as I've said before, I'm only one man...there's no team here helping me write the equivalent of a small novel each month. I do it because I love to write, and I love that my writing makes people happy. Unfortunately, I'm not a machine, I can't just keep going and going and going with it every single day. The Muse is fickle and wants what it wants, and if it gets drained then I'll sit and look at a blank Word Document for hours without being able to get anything written.
I want to avoid burnout at all costs. The last time I hit that point I didn't write anything for about 4 years.
But I felt that I needed to explain myself and why Logia Brothers didn't get an update this month. I can only hope for everyone's understanding and your forgiveness for this failure on my part.
This has further opened my eyes to the fact that perhaps I'm putting too much on myself each month when it comes to writing. Going forward, after Artificer Legacy is complete, perhaps I'll keep the Main Rotation at 5 stories, instead of 6, and let the Muse have a bit more freedom. 9 or 10 updates a month is almost as good as 10 to 11 updates a month, but we'll see what happens in the future.
Once again, thank you all for your understanding and your forgiveness of this lack of a Logia Brothers update this month (if you forgive me for it, of course). I'll make sure to keep doing my absolute best for all of you and everyone that reads and enjoys my stories. Look forward to more updates coming in the next couple of days!
