Hey Patrons! How're you all today? Hope you're well and ready to exercise your Exclusive Privileges again! This time for a bit of my Original Writing!

Their is a certain plot point for my World that I'll have to explain real quick. By Historical Comparison to the Real World, my World is set about the late 1700's to the early 1800's, but because they have Magic they've never developed Gunpowder or Weapons of War like we know them, Tanks, Bombers, etc. One of the main reasons for this lack of War Machine development is the existence of Magic Weapons and Demon/Monster Weapons.

I see Magic Weapons and Demon Weapons as fundamentally different from each other. Magic Weapons are crafted more like I have Enchanting done in Artificer Legacy while Demon Weapons are basically Creature Craft, with their abilities coming from the Monster they were crafted from. Though a skilled user of either Type of weapon can make use of the basic abilities to create various effects that aren't covered by said basics.

After all you don't need a Tank when a single swing of a Magic Sword and break an enemy formation. Or the casting of a single spell can upheave the land and the like. But Magic Weapons and Demon/Monster Weapons will play a Supporting Role in the story. So I ask you to help me decide how to introduce them. I have a couple ideas but am willing to hear suggestions as well!

So please let me know what you think!

Poll ends Monday the 15th at Noon EST, so please share your thoughts with me! You guys and girls are the Best!

Hmm, interesting concept. Will the SI be able to make both the Monster and regular Magic Weapons, as they are a human reincarnated as a monster? Or will they be stuck with the Monster variant? So if I understand correctly, humans making Magic Weapons have more creative freedom to create whatever they want, while Monsters are limited to imbuing weapons with whatever traits/special abilities they have? Which may allow for things humans can't create? When you say "Though a skilled user of either Type of weapon can make use of the basic abilities to create various effects that aren't covered by said basics." Do you mean, say the crafter creates a sword that encases itself in fire, and the user find a way to make it launch arcs of fire or something? Could Monsters find a way to make the human equivalent of Magic Weapons, or are they stuck with their own version? If they are stuck just creating weapons based on their abilities, are they more potent on average due to lesser versatility? Can a Demon/Monster use a Human made Magic Weapon? Can a Human use a Demon Weapon? If so would there be any limitations or side effects from doing so? How would this all apply to the SI, especially as a Goblin, which don't really have any special abilities? Sorry, lots of questions.

Once again TinyDeath is thinking critically! Love it! To answer your questions I'll go through the basics as I plan to write them. A Magic Weapon is any weapon created and imbued with Magic at the time of its construction. They can have wide-ranging varieties of effects and can be used by anyone capable of utilizing mana, Human or Demi-Human/Monster. Demon Weapons take on the powers of the Monster they're crafted from, and can also be used by both Human's and Demi-Humans/Monsters. The main difference is that while some Magic Weapons have a 'built-in' power source that their abilities come from and only need the user's mana to activate the effects; Demon Weapons all have 'internal power' because they were once part of a Monster capable of using mana on some kind of innate or instinctual level to unleash their own special abilities. The drawbacks of using Magic Weapons are that they drain the user of mana for each activation of their effect or the duration of use. Demon Weapons have the lingering 'Aspect' of a Monster and therefore require more 'forceful' handling lest the remnants of the Monster's 'Will' cause 'side effects' during/after use. Some such 'side effects' are injury to the user and in the worse cases a form of 'pseudo-possession' by the Monster's lingering 'Aspect'. As for the skilled user thing; I simply mean that if a person was using a Magic/Demon Sword and they also knew a few different spells, then they'd be able to channel these different spells through the Sword and bring about different effects. For example, a person has in their possession a Demon Sword made from the Fangs of a Salamander. Naturally this sword is heavily aligned to the Fire Element. But if the wielder knew, say, a Lightning Spell they could channel the spell into the Demon Sword and create a new effect from the basic 'Throw Fire around' ability that the sword normally has. They may even be able to create a burning hot Lightning strike with a swing of the sword rather than simply unleashing a wave of Fire. This could see the creation of a 'Technique' for that person when using their Demon Sword.

Are the humans afraid of the monsters that live in forests just a question as i have an idea you might be able to use later in the story

Kairomaru

Sometimes. I was planning on making that a point whenever they eventually did meet Human Adventurers. Goblins are often seen as thieves, killers and kidnappers. But some Humans know Goblin Tribes differ from one to the next and aren't afraid of any Tribe that has Female Hobgoblins. Knowing that any Tribe capable of self-sustaining their population won't cause trouble for other Races. Other Demi-Humans, barring Elves/Dwarves/Noble Demons, are looked on with varying levels of suspicion by most Humans. While outright Monsters, like the Crown Tiger, are universally feared by Humans.

I just think it would be cool if the goblins had a demons weapon smith living with them. Now they can use their Enemies as weapons even more lol. Shadow lynx fang knife turns gobo invisible Mauahahah!

Kairomaru

Or they have the pelt turned into a cloak! Gobbo Six, Going Dark! Take that, Potter!
