If the servant Fengmian (ah Dio’s lady in waiting) killing the baby was the nail in coffin for luoman getting expelled… and by extension Lakan getting sent away before he could learn about Feng Xin’s pregnancy this really is the worst case of the butterfly effect/it’s a small world. Mdzs spoilers* You brought up Mdzs and I love Mdzs! A lot of people diss the temple scene but it has my favorite dialogue exchange. “I think it’s best if Young Master Wei stops right there. It’s nothing if your flute’s broken, but if your tongue or your fingers went missing, it’d be such a shame.” Wei WuXian immediately put his hand away, agreeing, “You make so much sense.” The person, “May I request your company?” Wei WuXian nodded, “You’re too polite, Sect Leader Jin.” Jin GuangYao smiled, “It’s my pleasure.” As if nothing was wrong, they walked a big circle all the way up to the main entrance of the Guanyin Temple. Wei WuXian was speechless.” It never fails to but a big smile on my face. Half expected snacks to be offer while JGY finished his escape plan and monologue. The story is getting juicy and I can’t wait to see Jingshi fully crash out. I can tell we’re getting close I can feel him getting more and more upset. As for Luoman with his knowing expression I bet he likes “hmmmmmm this man is weirdly invested in my daughter beyond duty hmmmm” Also Gaoshan saying meow meow could he get more perfect. I’ve said it once and I’ll say it gain I want to transmigrate and become his wife.

I enjoyed the reaction and discussion! The "meow" killed me! And so launched (in my head) the Gaoshun + Jinshi ship as Jinshi is just going to be thinking of Gaoshun now anytime he'd think of MaoMao - which we know is all the time. No wonder Jinshi claims he is going to forget Gaoshun ever did that! And the Wicked comparisons! Yes! What timing too, as I am looking forward to watching the movie very soon, but I loved the Broadway performance of it - it was amazing! And of course the soundtrack, of the original Broadway Cast, is what originally got me interested in seeing it. I've always had a soft spot for well sung story-songs!

Thank you so much for the comment and kind words! There's too much of an age gap for me for Jinshi x Gaoshun but I will definitely keep the head canon of Jinshi inspiring him! Ooohhh, the movie for Wicked is great! I've seen the Broadway version as well - it's just such a good show! And yessss, the soundtrack! Same! <3 I can't wait to see where this show takes us!

Gaoshun's "nyan, nyan/meow, meow" is just too adorable. Really not hiding his cat-lover side 😁 Getting to see the façade Jinshi portrays as "Jinshi the eunuch" disappear when he becomes overly anxious about Maomao, alongside that fist clench, really reminds me of Mr Darcy too. Both have difficulty in controlling their emotions when it comes to the women they care for. Maomao's calmness to being kidnapped I feel is incredibly similar to the way Luomen views her disappearance: nothing can come of getting frantic about the situation, and instead it's better to remain calm and do what you can when you can. But completely agree that Jinshi's got so many struggles, and now the added yuri hurdles! 😆 Poor man already has it hard enough. Apothecary Diaries: the show that gives you a couple of answers only to leave you with five more questions 😂 Love a show that makes you put your Sherlock hat on and try to put the jigsaw pieces together. I also love that you saw a correlation between Jin Guangyao kidnapping everybody at the Guanyin Temple and the kidnapping in this episode and how Maomao reacted to it. Always love seeing other media being similar to Mo Dao Zu Shi.

Gaoshun’s meow, meow was TOO PRECIOUS! He’s such a cat lover and I love Jinshi’s expression towards him in that moment - much needed softness in this episode! Yesssssss, Jinshi is having trouble remaining the calm and cool and seductive “Jinshi the Eunuch” when MaoMao is potentially in danger! I love to see it, but it makes me anxious FOR him! MaoMao definitely takes after Luomen with being kidnapped, but it’s a good callback to the start of the series with her being taken away. The Sherlock hat impulse with this show makes it one of my favorites - I just LOVE all the mystery! And yessss, MDZS continues to influence and be a reference years later - we love to see it!
