You don't have to worry about the emotional connection thing, that's not only refreshing to see from a reactor, but it shows you genuinely care and appreciate the medium you're taking in. So having a faith in humanity restored a little bit kind of moment from appreciating the care and attention the creators gave to this work, that goes a long way and is in no way a bad thing! As far as it being made by a game company, it's based on characters from League of Legends, made by Riot Games. It's not a story game or anything, it's a MOBA, so you kind of just choose your character, fight the enemy team that chose their characters, and try to win. The lore for these characters in the games was, while pretty in depth, not nearly as fleshed out as people would have liked for a show. Originally, the company didn't want this show to be considered canon or official as far as world lore and the characters actual background. After the early success this show had, it was actually more focused on and has been made fully canon in lore and background. The game makers even incorporated things from the show into the games after all was said and done. I realize this was months ago, and that you've finished season 1, so I'll probably not comment again until the last episode, but I'm so looking forward to this whole journey. I'm just gonna binge the entire first season here lol
