Thank you for sharing your reaction, great episode. I loved and appreciate your long intro, it's kind of nice to get other people's thoughts. A few thought, firstly )the deal Marcus made. - the showrunners of Arcane use the method of "show, don't tell." While this method is quite powerful for story-telling, it has to be balanced well. My point being, sometimes they leave some details out, to leave it up to each personal viewers interpretation. I am not saying in this case it is good per say, but just more so they use this method quite a bit, and without too much spoilers, they use it a lot more for season 2. I personally think it has to be balanced well, or in some ways it can come off as lazy writing. Secondly, on the question about Silco and more scientist for hexcrystal.

If it's not already kind of noticed enough, Piltover and Zaun are twin cities in league lore. Piltover known as "City of Progress" and Zaun known as "City of Iron and Glass." they used to be a combined city and was actually all called "Zaun." But during an attempt to open up more trade routes on the sea south of them, they used gas bombs (why? Who knows, it's fantasy lol) they were actually way too powerful. They caused the City to split and half, which thus caused the upper city to be on a "Pilt" over the lower city. Thus why the upper city was eventually renamed Piltover and lower city kept name of Zaun. One of the major consequences of this event, is eventually the upper city which retained most of the rich, money and etc. They retained major power because anybody who was smart, would go to Piltover (or anybody else in the world of Runeterra) thus they were able to push ahead of Zaun because they had the money, resources, and intelligence of the population. This sadly left the Zaun to figure it out, while also dealing with the leftovers of toxic bombs. My main point being, is that anybody who might have been smart, or could have chance to change the world, typically would never get noticed. Also while being left behind, they were not taken care of with updated technologies of medical supplies, education and inventions. Point being, majority of the population in Zaun, aren't that smart. While Silco may be connected, most of Zaun is known for brute forcing things. Now obviously there's always outliers and it's just general themes of the lore, but that is why he doesn't probably have more scientist to rely on that they show, in the show. Fun fact, in league lore, both Jinx and Ekko both have genius mind-intellect but generally haven't been able to impact the world due to being born in Zaun. As they show, Ekko tinkering with the clock in the beginning and Jinx being able to figure out small things and build things. p.s. Zaun do have smart people, not to counterject what I said above, they actually have their own form of Hextech, which becomes known as "chemtech." chemtech refers to a techmaturgical technology that combines machinery and potent chemicals to empower its users, primarily used in the toxic depths of Zaun. It serves as the undercity's answer to Piltover's Hextech. Chemtech is characterized by its use of various chemicals, most notably shimmer. This is not a spoiler, they just don't explain this at all throughout the whole series. It's what Sevikas arm is made out of and typically signified through the color purple p.s.s. Purple also plays another important role for a whole different reason, but you don't need to worry about it at all yet, because they never reveal why in the series. You will learn more, if you deep dive league content after Arcane.

And yes, not to be rude at all, but that was a PTSD flashback. If not already noticed, Jinx suffers from undiagnosed post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), psychosis, and borderline personality disorder (BPD) due to a variety of past traumas
