Again appreciate the long intro and all the thoughts. So how I percieved Viktor's words of "I understand now." to Singed, was more on a slightly bigger picture of a theme. Where many characters in this show follow the quote of "The ends, justify the means." Silco believes that, regardless of all the evil and awful things he has done, it's for the better of the Undercity and trying to move forward. We don't know yet Singed total motivations, but for some reason, his mutation must survive, regardless of the pain it's gone through. And in Viktor, he understands maybe Singes goals and means, but sometimes messing with the imblance of nature, to push forward your own end goal. In this case, Viktor is wanting to find a means to possibly extend his life, through whatever means possible, if it damages himself (or in juxaposition, Singed was hurting the mutation he created and as a kid, couldn't understand any reason why.)

Also the fireflies on the bridge were made by Jinx, it was teased in 1x4 where she had a partial mechanical fly on her desk. It's how Silco was able to frame any incidents on the "Fireflies" organization, even though they actually don't hurt anybody.

Yes we know the mechanical firelights on the bridge were Jinx’s since they featured her signature bad monkey design on the wings. While Jinx was topside stealing the gemstone in episode 4 she also took a mechanical butterfly. She then designed her own explosive version that somewhat resembled the insect firelights to support Silco’s “the Firelights gang are behind the Piltover attacks” narrative.

At this point, Cait has been released from the Enforcers, as per her parents wishes. Her investigation is entirely of her own volition to the point of her forging Jayce's signature to break Vi out of prison. Vi is free without conditions because Cait has no authority to hold her to any. Not that she seems like she would want to, anyway. Jayce and Cait's relationship is that of siblings. Before the time skip, we saw her as a child with an adult Jayce. He's essentially an older brother who's watched her grow up, hence his nickname for her - "sprout". Also, you're 100% correct that Cait bats for the same team. It doesn't seem like they were aware that the Enforcers had blockaded the bridge before they crossed it, but there really isn't any other way to get back to Piltover. Even if they were aware, none of them would know the reason for the blockade is to stop Vi and Cait from returning. Cait is under the impression the Enforcers are escalating because of the missing gemstone, which she now has. She's relying on her posession of the gemstone, along with her privilege as a former Enforcer and, more importantly, a councilor's daughter to get them back Topside and get Ekko an audience with the council. As you said, she didn't expect Marcus to be there and although I think she believed Ekko's claim of corruption - at least enough to be willing to use her connections on his behalf - up until Marcus draws on him, she had no idea of the extent. Sorry to bend your ear. Enjoying your reactions and insights (and the occasional contributions of your cat).
