HF Patch for Koikatsu Party v2.7.1 (and Koikatu) (Patreon)

This version adds compatibility for the Steam release of Koikatsu Party (KKP). If you have the Japanese release and installed HF Patch v2.7 already, you do not need to install this (most of the fixes are for KKP and HF Patch itself).

What is this?

A patch for Koikatu and Koikatsu Party with all free updates, fan-made English translations and essential mods. It will allow you to load all character cards and scenes and give you countless gameplay improvements while still keeping the original, uncluttered and clean feel of the game.

HF Patch does not contain the full game, paid expansions or any other pirated content. You have to buy the game and expansions separately.

All content is tested and fixed (or removed) as needed before each update, providing a stable platform for further modding. HF Patch can also repair many common issues, try it if you have issues.

Notes for Steam release, new users please read!

Consider pausing your Koikatsu updates on Steam. New updates might install automatically and break mods (which can break the game in return) with no user input. 

You can prevent Steam from showing you play the game by starting the .exe manually (not from the Steam library). Make your games private to be extra sure. The game can also run with Steam turned off. Just know that we won't judge you for your hours played :)

If you verify game files in your Steam client, you will lose many features and have to re-run HF Patch. You can do this if you have issues as it will not remove any of your data.

Included fan translations are only used to fill in the gaps in official translation (DLC, studio, mods).

It is possible to install the Japanese VR module. Download this, open the .exe in 7zip, and extract contents of the "setup" folder into the game directory after installing HF Patch.

It is possible to install Japanese versions of Summer Personality Expansion and After School Expansion packs to the Steam release (note that they only have (mostly) low quality machine translations, but the features work fine). They are both entirely optional and HF Patch will inform you if they are missing. Check the discord server for more info.

Installing HF Patch will add free updates for Koikatu, which contain Studio (a separate .exe). For many people this is the only mode they use (apart from character maker to make characters for use in studio), so it is highly recommended that you check it out. All my Koikatu HF Patch preview images were made in studio, including this one. You can see other people's creations and download their studio scenes from the Koikatsu Discord server. There are also some guides available there.

Patcher changes / 変更

Yes, it's not compatible (together with a couple other mods) because character lists are implemented differently in steam version. These mods will not get installed by hf patch even though they appear on the mod list because of this.

It's included in hf patch, you don't have to install it separately. That being said if you are adding any patches/dlc to the game then do it before hf patch to avoid incompatibility issues.

Is there a chance for getting eastern name order for Koikatsu Party? I absolutely loathe it when Japanese names are written in the western order "cuz dem western people are too dumb to understand it otherwise"

It's definitely possible to make a mod like that. I won't be able to get around to making that any time soon but you can pitch the idea in modding channel of the koikatsu discord server. Someone might bite, or we would gladly teach you how to make one yourself.

It's a preorder exclusive for people who bought EmotionCreators, another Illusion's game (that isn't very good). It mostly adds clothes from EC to KK. Darkness is a preorder exclusive as well.

I don't think there's anything made for that currently. It would be possible to make a mod for that but no one made anything so far (KK_Ahegao changes expression of girls only).

Depends on the download, you will have to extract it with something like 7zip (even if it's an .exe file) and just directly copy the game files into your game. Just make sure to NOT replace any game files when asked, only copy the ones that don't exist. Also, don't copy koikatu_data and koikatu.exe, since they are useless and might throw off HF Patch in the future.

Could you please upload this somewhere besides Mega.Nz? I've tried downloading it from different PCs, browsers, operating systems and did all of the troubleshooting I could find online, but it always throttles my download to 10-20 KB per second. I know it's asking a lot, but I don't know what else to do.

Hi, Seem this patch not compatible with Yoyaku/Darkness DLC yet (steam version). After applied the patch, cannot activate the scene on 3F Corriodor. Note: I installed DLC directly to steam folder. Darkness DLC scene worked before installed HF patch.

Yoyaku/Darkness DLC does not work properly in the Steam version of the game. The MMF scene does not work at all and a bunch of the clothes added will be glitchy. It's recommended to not install these two.

Hi, I just bought the game yesterday and now I found this. I just want to know whether this patch provide high quality translation and there is way to activate it. I installed this patch and I only see auto-generated translation except UI. If there is way to improve translation quality, please help me.

If you bought the steam release you should have the proper official translations. If not, remove koikatu_data and koikatu.exe, verify local files in steam, and install hf patch again. If you have the Japanese release then there's nothing better that I can add to the patch. There are some translations ripped from the party release, but that's basically piracy so can't help you there.

All available fan-made translations are included. Translations ripped from Koikatsu Party will not be included since it's piracy.

Question. So I had the misfortune of Steam deciding to force an update on the game (somehow the game was susceptible to updates again). The cant start nor load a story anymore. I'm giving it my all but struggling to find a fix. Any suggestions?

Can any one tell me how to use the uncensored plugin or the other modded functions? I installed hf following the instructions here but pressing f1 just brings me to the setting menu with no mention of the uncensored settings. Thanks in advance.

Also I have disabled the steam updater before any one asks. After trying to install the patch multiple times it seams that the only effect it has had on the game thus far is removing the censor Mosaic on the female body. The male body still has a censor mosaic.

Yes, install them before the patch. This is an old version of the patch, make sure you get the latest one.

Hi, I purchased and installed the game from Steam. I downloaded the VR patch from steam also. and installed the HF patch following the prompts. I have 2 problems. 1. I can not launch the game from Steam,.. I can only launch it in either desktop or VR mode directly from the game folder. 2. I can not see the campaign mode, Character creator,.. or anything else in VR mode... VR mode seems like it is still the same as it was originally even after I installed the patch... am I doing something wrong or is this how it is supposed to be?

I know this is a weird question but, do you know if you can get the game in full japanese? Not only the audio I mean. The steam version only has japanese audio I think, and I would reaaally like to have the story and the editor in japanese. Thanks in advance :D.

The official VR mode is only one scene, no story. There are mods that add VR to main game and studio, but they are fairly difficult to use and might not be up to date. You can find them on the discord server.

First of all. this is a very old release, make sure to get the latest version if you plan to install it. You can get the VR module directly from steam if you have KK Party. If you have the Japanese release you can get the Japanese VR module on the discord server.

Do you mean the vmd plugin or actual dance files? The VMD plugin is included in more recent versions of HF Patch. You can find links to packs with the animations on the discord server and by looking in MMD communities.
