I think the fastest and easiest way to get Cyril to back down and get his support is for Lucian to tell him the truth: that Lucian isn't Lucian. The Duke only cares for his legacy and appears to be incorruptible--unswayable from his path. Having a hero for a son would only strengthen his legacy.
