Now that I think about it, could Lucian learn spells and skills that he, because of his stats, shouldn't be capable of? After all, he shares his internal energy and magical energy pools as a single pool of Formless Essence. So that should allow him to put twice as much energy behind an attack as any other mage or warrior with his stats could. Or, likely, spells and skills aren't limited by total energy capacity, and you really do need the stats to pull them off.
