A couple of things to say. First, back in chapter 111, Aurelia was talking about some sort of incest going on in the kingdom's church. It is likely that this idea gained support due to a lack of evidence of the isolationist church bringing in new blood to prevent inbreeding. This is something the monastics would actually be fairly knowledgeable about, as it is a problem for them too, and they have learned to work around it. So, the question is, if the church isn't bringing in outsiders, how are they getting around the issue of incest? Here's my theory. The high priest, and perhaps even his inner circle, might all be immortals, who isolate to either hide from enemies, or keep their immortality secret. Perhaps they even come from the heavens. It seems clear that Aurelia is upset by Lucian's lack of interest in her. But the question is, is Lucian even interested in romance at all? He's been dragged into this world with no explanation, nor any idea on how to return, if that's even possible. Plus, this isn't even his body, and his primary concern is survival. It makes sense that he wouldn't be thinking about romance. Without even considering his complex relationship with Aurelia, Lucian will likely need some time to think before considering any kind of romance. I wonder how much is going to be covered in this book? We have blessings, golemancy, and new powerups from the Formless Essence. There's the black bloom, both the cure and the new strain being developed by the demons. The fate of the republic, elves, and also Enoch. Will Miriam have to make a choice, with her being the key to curing the black bloom? I can imagine the elves and Enoch, with their hatred of humans, perhaps putting pressure on her not to help, should the demons spread the black bloom amongst humans. It would be a hard choice, with revenge, the man she owes, and her people on one side, and doing the right thing on the other. Although, I imagine that a pep talk from Aurelia would probably help Miriam, just like it did Lucian.

Well then, that being the latest chapter is good news for my sleep schedule. It took me 13 hours to binge this series but it was worth it!
