If you were in the mafia for real would you change your names to Rocco and Guiseppe and smoke a pack of cigarettes a day? if not, how else would you spend your time.

Dear Syd and Olivia, My really close friend just moved to Australia (I'm from the US so literally across the world) without telling me. I knew they were planning on moving there, but I didn't know when they were leaving and I assumed they'd tell me before they left so we could say goodbye. After getting their new number from their mom I messaged them saying I was sad we didn't get to say goodbye, and they said they were sad too as a passing comment but didn't apologize. I'm really hurt at this and don't know what to do. I love them and want to keep being their friend, but I'm sad that they didn't even tell me they were leaving. What should I do? Maybe as an almost 30 YO I should be giving more prudish advice but this is just my opinion and just consider this but don't take my opinion as the be all end all. just be kind but stern. They've heard all the things you have growing up, they know it's bad. Most people I've known who did hard drugs turned away on their own after a short time. Pressuring them to quit might make them feel alienated which could make them do it more. I assume if they showed you that, they're a close friend that trusts you. Just make it clear that you don't approve but you'll be there for them to lean on when they try to quit. If it's a one time thing they're doing at a party, just.... make sure they get home safe, but you can't make it a regular thing to tripsit them or it'll consume your life. tldr support them in the early stages but be aware that you may have to cut them loose if it starts dragging you down, but that's unlikely to happen. ❤️

Dear Syd and Olivia Thanks for your podcast and all your wonderful advice. I’m currently 17 months sober, it’s going great BUT I haven’t cried in 15 months. What’s up with that? I used to cried daily and now I can’t produce a single tear. My question is how do I force myself to cry? I recently rewatched My Girl and even that didn’t work. Help?!
