Omg so mine is less traumatic and more funny, but my ocean thing from childhood was that I was at a family reunion at Hampton beach, and literally EVERYONE was on the beach. I was like 10, in knee deep water, and I was walking back to shore. I got hit from behind by a MASSIVE fuckin wave, it made me do a front flip, and yanked my trunks down. By the time I was actively aware of where I was, I was standing in ankle-deep water with my trunks around my shins. Now I can say most of my cousins have seen me ass naked 😭

my cousin died a couple years ago by getting caught in a riptide while saving his son from said riptide, and his son was in the riptide in the first place trying to save their dog from said riptide. the son is like 12 and alive and doing ok but the ocean is scary and bad things happen all the time. if stanzi wants to start a support group with my dead cousin’s 12 year old son for people who were saved from drowning by someone who consequently died please contact me
