GOT 7x1 Dragonstone

It’s frustrating that Jon didn’t learn from BotB to discuss things with Sansa ahead of time. She gets a lot of the hate for disagreeing with him publicly, but he should’ve spoken with her & he should know to respect her judgment.

People hate on Sansa for speaking up in front of the other lords but... what other choice does she even have here? If she wants her opinion to be heard, she only has this opportunity to do it since Jon doesn't take the time to speak to her alone beforehand. If Jon wants Sansa not to speak up in front of others then he needs to hear her ahead of time and understand her point of view in private BEFORE and then talk to the others. It's the only other way her input will have any value. People said Sansa should speak after, in private, if she disagrees. But then the decision is made and what she says is worthless so what's the point? Useless hate for Sansa in this instance, the fault lies with Jon.

Didn't realize there was so much hate for Sansa because of this :( I agree with you

There is soooo much hate for Sansa in general... I've seen so many cruelly insensitive comments saying her whole character is just about being the victim and being raped and it's boring. When I see that, I feel like scratching my eyes out. She isn't just her circumstances, the point of her character is that she learned to grow and come out stronger DESPITE of her terrible circumstances :(

Actually it’s never stated that they didn’t talk previously, nor is there any evidence that Jon prevented Sansa from seeing him, or that she tried to talk to him. We did see in Battle of the Bastards that Sansa did talk to Jon privately, we also saw her repeatedly lie through omission to him when she had a chance to really make her case, after what would have been weeks of having additional knowledge. We also saw that she had no problem talking to Jon afterwards, and we saw Jon listen, even if he disagrees. And at only one point in every scene that we are shown does Jon ever withhold information from Sansa and that was the full graphic details that Ramsey threaten in letter form. Heck do we even have a scene showing Jon taking private council or getting opinions were Sansa isn’t present to share opinions not in front of the full throne room? So I don’t agree with a lot of Sansa behavior even if she has valid points because her fairly recent and current behavior make it difficult. I mean she immediately throws a Joffrey comparison at Jon.

Mark Wood

If she had lead privately that Jon needs to be smarter then Ned or Robb he’ll she makes a very valid point, but starting that talk with a direct comparison to Joffrey doesn’t show wisdom.

There is waaaaaaaay too much hate for Sansa! It's like EVERYONE has forgotten what she's been through. And that SHE saved the North!

I agree :( I didn't know there was hate for Sansa for that scene until I got some comments about it! That's so sad. LEAVE SANSA ALONE (said like LEAVE BRITNEY ALONE)

Exactly right, Ines! I think part of her cautiousness is also that she’s seen how women are ignored and dominated by men - even powerful women, like Cersei, and savvy women, like Margaery. When they have plans, they have to execute them in secret, or men will shut them down or mess things up (while being abusive).

Yes that was the same maester as the Bolton's had in Winterfell. But maesters are pledged to Castles rather than Houses. Remember maester Luwin with Theon? He had to serve him as the new "Prince" of Winterfell whether he wanted to or not. He was later replaced by maester Wolkan.

Personally I wish Jon would consult with Sansa and consider her opinion, but he's in no way obligated to do so. Jon is King while Sansa is just a Lady. She serves under him. If Jon felt confident enough in his decision he would have had no reason to consult with Sansa about it. Maybe if he had doubts he would have discussed it with her. But he already knew the right decision and made it. A good thing since Sansa's judgement was completely wrong in this situation.

Hey I just thought of something else. Remember in 1x2 the King's Road when Cersei wanted to kill Sansa's wolf Lady as punishment because they couldn't find and kill Nymeria? Sansa reminded me of Cersei in this episode because she wanted to punish the innocent children and take away their rightful homes because of something their late fathers did. Sansa you should know better!!
