I'd like to do a Q&A for each episode going forward. Let me know in the comments what questions you have :)

What choice do you think Bronn will make? He is a sellsword, so does he bet on the deal that he has with Cersei, or does he hope that the North/Targaryens win and he will get a better offer? Recall Varys's riddle from back in season 2: "In a room sit three great men, a king, a priest, and a rich man with his gold. Between them stands a sellsword, a little man of common birth and no great mind. Each of the great ones bids him slay the other two. ‘Do it,’ says the king, ‘for I am your lawful ruler.’ ‘Do it,’ says the priest, ‘for I command you in the names of the gods.’ ‘Do it,’ says the rich man, ‘and all this gold shall be yours.’ So tell me – who lives and who dies?" We never did get a good answer to that riddle, but I think Bronn's choice will get us closer to finding out.

Episode 2 is going to air on Easter, as did episode 2 of season 6. do you think they’ll reflect this in the show? In what way?

Jesse Mathe

On the riddle I'd argue it's the rich man I'd assume. The other two present commands and ownership The last give him something valuable without condescension.

Yay! So glad you’re doing this, it’s so fun to be able to toss out thoughts without worrying about spoilers. So....the new opening credits we get a new story on the astrolabes. In seasons 1-7 it was the Doom of Valyria then Robert’s Rebellion, then the lion and wolf bowing to the stag. This is the back story to the start of season 1. In season 8 we get Viserion bringing down the Wall, then the Red Wedding, then the birth of Dany’s dragons, complete with comet. In that order. Why do you think they’re giving us those events, and in what seems to be a backwards order? Also, why is the Red Wedding the middle event? It’s pivotal for us as viewers, for sure, but in terms of the threat of the Night King it seems pretty insignificant. Also, Tyrion twice starts the joke “I once brought a jackass and a honeycomb into a brothel...” but doesn’t finish it. How do you think it ends. :-D Kidding!

Ellie

Oh, wow, I didn’t know that.... Holy crap...

Ellie

Oh, forgot.... the spiral symbol that showed up again with the departure of poor Ned Umber. When they light it on fire it looks a bit like the Targaryen sigil. I figured I just had too much wine when I watched the episode, but a few other reactors have mentioned it as well. Is it possible it’s a bastardized version of the Targaryen sigil? If so, we saw it back in season 2, so it can’t be a direct 7x6 reference. If it’s just a straight up Children of the Forest reference, what do you think it means, since the show is obviously beating us over the head with the symbol?

Ellie

Ooooh.... I didn’t even think of that! Good call!

Craig Kostelecky

That symbol had been used many times before, but until they lit it on fire, I didn’t make a Targaryen connection. I still don’t have a good idea and what that connection is, but I do think it’s intentional that it looks like the Targaryen sigil.

Jesse Mathe

It really isn't much of the targ symbol. It's just a spiral and Its likely a way they spread their powers. In the s6 scene where the Children create the Night King there a Spiral around the tree. Then that same location is where Bran sees the army and the Night King Marks Bran. It was in s1 ep1 opening with kid also sacrificed. It could be a sign that they have to burn the weirewood trees and the main one to be able to Kill the Night King.
