I always just fill in the blanks so to speak. Like I just assumed that as “experienced” as Tom is lube is something he’d be sure to use. I figure if something is important to the story it’ll get brought up otherwise I just assume the mundane details happened off screen.

Exactly. I do that too when reading comics. They are more like a story board that comes alive in my head, not on screen 😅

I mean the story is so good I never gave it a second thought about those details. You’re doing fine. Even triple A comics miss or pass on details like those and it’s not a big deal.

One of my favorite authors, HP Lovecraft apparently once got denied by a big publisher for not adding enough mundane details. So in one story, his characters suddenly get dressed, undressed and sit down for dinner. It’s my least favorite story of him. I didn’t know the backstory and just read it like „wtf is this, just get back to the story!“ 😆

I imagine they have to use a restroom several times a day, but don't need to see that, either. (though with furries no doubt there are some who miss that :P )
