a 16 is old rap terminology for a verse. 16 bar verse. Marshmallows are sweet so that's why what he is writing (the 16 bar verses) are sweet. Literally sweet because of the marshmallows and also sweet as in awesome lol Just some funny wordplay

“Sweet 16” 16 bars is basically a verse. It’s what raps use to structure a song. He’s saying he writes sweet raps and bars.

also he 100% was talking about Drake in this but doesn't necessarily mean he didn't like him at this particular time. Just competitiveness. When you start rapping some of your inspiration is to be the best and so you think of the rappers on top of the game and it may inspire some bars that can be either loosely or directly going at the top rappers

The song was officially released as a kind of "Detox is coming" announcement, just the album itself never materialized. I noted which songs are unreleased leaks in the spreadsheet, all the other remaining songs were officially released in some form as singles/loosies etc :)

Lil bit of context I guess and a fun fact. The West Coast was somewhat dormant in the mainstream at the time especially lyrically. The album detox had been teased for decades I remember showing my mom this track she was like detox ain't coming out knowing how long it had been there was rumoured Tupac verses even. At this time there was a lot of excitement of that class Kendrick wale lupe etc. so I guess Dre felt it and began working on detox again so much so that drake and Wayne thought they had writing credits on it (said on the song ransom) and Kendrick figured he'd be on it after signing to aftermath people were actually believing it could be released of course it never did we also learned dre scrapped it. There's this infamous clip of iggy azealia "freestyling" on stage and her "blaccent" was so heavy that not many even knew what she was talmbout but if you listen closely it's a whole as interpolation of this exact song not sure why she chose a song with such high difficulty to recite. It's really funny.
