Kendrick always uses these Pusha features to just exercise his pen lol my GOAT

Eric Napier

Cocaine + baking soda + water = crack. Cocaine + ether = freebase Soap is used to imitate crack if none is available or as a way to stretch the product.

Ron Cash

Vambie just dig into Dissect podcast it will blow your mind and especially on this verse by Kendrick it’s absolutely genius, https://youtube.com/shorts/0z-fDzv-QMI?si=U_th1V6ZEeN7mFUc

The mathematics in Kendrick's verse https://youtu.be/bQkurC7jWoM?si=uSKy6ah8v4Q9pWDs

I always want to say to much and don't want to comment because I can't choose, but features are awesome in hip hop between goats. You'll love them, the artists elevate each other! Also another reference to Tre from Boyz in the Hood 1st was from sing about me dying of thirst. There's a cool clip of Cuba Gooding throwing punches after his friend is killed in the movie. Great movie, one of my favorites check it out because it takes place around where Kendrick would have grew up.

Tyrone Ross

Boyz in the Hood also starts with a kid showing the others a dead body.

JayDubb1977

Bubble bath in the 80's came in powder form. His dad used bubble bath instead of cocaine to make crack, be cause he snorted all of the cocaine. (Edit) This is why he called him washed up) Icecube is a double. You use icecubes to make crack, and Icecube (the rapper) and Deebo in the movie Friday. Deebo was a bully in the movie (Deebo our perimeter)

Tyrone Ross

Btw Kendrick did some crazy weird math here that nerds figured out if you add all the numbers up I'm sure someone will explain 🤣

Warfield

Lol damn we should have sent you a video breaking down the numbers. When you find out you’re gonna flip out! 😂🤯

Brandon

Dot always switches it up on features

S.C. John

"Arm and Hammer' is one of the ingredients that is used to cook "crack cocaine." The mix "crackles" when it cooks (Crack), and once it hardens, you use the razor to carve pieces for distribution.

Tristyn Davis

Trust your gut Vambie lol, he was talking about ice cube as well as in the actor, because of the deebo follow up as Deebo was the antagonist to ice cube’s movie “Friday”

S.C. John

Don't forget the "Ferris Bueller" ending bar, " selling crack with my Jewels on". Jewels was Ferris Bueller's GF, who was also cutting class with him.

Tristyn Davis

Taco meat also refers to chest hair

Calvin Wine

I second this comment greatly. Dissect is pretty great at catching the lyrics, context, metaphors, and subliminal content in Kendrick's music. Even his Superbowl break down was pretty interesting

Donte Battle

The part about being one some kind of last cracked me up. Although you don’t know much about the drug game and trust me that’s a veryyyyy good thing. I have to say your intuition is exceptional. Continue to use context clues and trust ya gut. But yeah, most of the stuff us rap fans learned was either from film or music so welcome aboard. 😬😅 This song makes references to a few films such as Friday starring Ice Cube & Deebo and Boyz N The Hood starring Doughboy & Tre played by Ice Cube and Cuba Gooding Jr. Great films that I’d suggest watching if you haven’t seen them before. Another phenomenal reaction Vambie. ✨

algorerhythm

Noooo you didn't watch the Dissect clip 💔 I need to mark the extra links I put in the spreadsheet better so you don't miss them. You were on the right track with the numbers scheme, but it's even more brilliant. Please watch the clip, it's just a minute and it will blow your mind. https://www.tiktok.com/@dissectpodcast/video/7085524337394175278

algorerhythm

I put the DIssect clip in the spreadsheet I sent her but she must've missed it

MrCarter22

He used a similar tone on his song The Jig Is Up produced by J Cole around GKMC time in 2012. The song never released on an album but is an old school Kendrick fan favorite and a rare J Cole production collaboration like Hiipower

Alyx V

My chores can wait! VAMBIE'S BACK WITH ANOTHER KENDRICK VID! Edit: I almost forgot about Kendrick's number scheme with this one. Damn he's cold

Dave

Great instincts as usual. I wish you had seen the numbers breakdown. Genius stuff

ElPanson

Nice to you see also become a fan of clipse

Jay D

As others have pointed out, the dissection video is a MUST. Blew my mind when I first saw it

Jyn Jilly

11:30 FBI open up!

Jonathan Riley

J&J is the visual description/metaphor. Baking soda is one of the ingredients

Poncholie

wanna see a dead body 😈

Scotty

“you want to see a dead body?” is from boyz n the hood. A movie Ice cube is in. You have to watch the breakdown on this song. To really appreciate Kendrick’s genius. You did a good job overall.

Anthony Scott

This is my favorite pusha t verse and it's not particularly close.

Szymon Tusting

The drum you're talking about might be a djembe, but without seeing it im only guessing

Supa

"Started selling soap fiends bubblebath" Is saying instead of selling Crack he would sell them soap which when you chip off certain soap bars can pass for Crack to a fiend. The Taco meat line is just describing his pops with his shirt open chest hair looking like taco meat with his gold chain on.

Supa

Also a hidden gem is the 9s and 10s that he uses adds up to 87 the year he was born which he mentions at the end of the verse.

AFLO

You have to watch the kendrick dissection vid of his feature insane 🔥🔥

YFbreeZy

Not sure where suggestions go, but for tyler, I strongly recommend the video J aubrey made that covers his career from before music to igor called “Unravelling the Brilliance of Tyler the Creator” its like an hour and a half but has so much insight on him as a person and might be entertaining to watch.

Aidan

Poor Kendrick never got his hand in his pocket

Derek Ince

You would have success going back and digging into the beef with drake further. So many easter eggs and hidden messages that show his brilliance. Also the views and clicks you would get.

Tristyn Davis

If Kanye wasn’t so crazy man we could just marvel at his production skills because man he did his thing with this and many other songs

mex1kodro

Legendary collab. Hope the old “temptation” song with j cole is on the list! Love the reactions!
